So I wanted to take my husband out to the new Proper for his birthday this Tuesday. I called for a reservation and was told they only take reservations for 6 or more people, but not to worry, the wait is generally only 45 minutes to an hour. Guess I will have to find 4 more people if I want to check this place out, meanwhile we're going to Feast instead.
"Food Worthy"???? Really? What does that mean? Tucson has a a lot of talented chefs and restaurateurs already and I don't think the owner of Bianco deeming us "worthy" of having his restaurants here suddenly gives them credibility or makes them any less his equal.
While I do love almost everything on The Cup menu, I prefer the Tofu Scramble at Blue Willow, preferably on the patio, and I agree with Susan that Mother Hubbard's Green Corn Waffle w/ green chilies is a quintessential Tucson breakfast. Speaking of breakfasts, I also love Ghini's Eggs Provencale, and I would really miss Adventure Coffee's Full Moon Blend.
Other favorites: the chocolate Babka and sandwiches at Beyond Bread, anything on Feast's ever changing menus, especially the chocolate truffle cookies, and my dogs and I can't let a weekend go by without a stop at Coffee Times drive through for Chai Tea Latte and dog biscuits...they are such nice people.
