I find it really ironic that schools that do a lot better with a little less money are being affected. This semester, I had the opportunity to observe a teacher in one of the schools that is on the closure list. For me to find out that one of these schools is going to be closed breaks my heart. I know that being there for six weeks was not enough time, but I learned a lot. I finally learned the meaning of community and how a school is part of a community.
As a students of the Pima Community College Teacher Education Program, I can honestly say that it is not only the future of parents and students that is on the line. The future of potential teachers is also on the line.
It is a situation like this that makes me say "There goes my future."
