While we may understandably have no compassion for this segment of humanity that is bent on destruction, we must still attempt to develop an understanding of the process that makes these people snap. Most of us wouldn't go beyond punching a wall, but these desperate few create a disproportionate amount of human suffering. Bravo to the off duty law enforcement officer who used her weapon to counter another potential tragedy in San Antonio, TX on December 16. I didn't see any TV coverage of that event.
re: comment above "you can't teach an old dog new tricks." The best trick any dog knows is how to lick himself. The same goes for most politicians, including Ron Barber.
