As a responsible Firearms owner, trained in firearms safety..... I am skeptical of the dismissal of charges against the boyfriend of the victim. Even with alchohol as a factor in the investigation, it seems clear to me that an accidental discharge of a firearm is unlikely. A person with a modicum of common sense would never risk working on a loaded firearm, putting them self and anyone else at risk. Even an inebriateded person would know to unload the weapon. In my opinion, the defense plead a ridiculous scenario to keep a man from facing justified punishment. Are there any firearms owners that agree. This " accidental discharge" is ridiculous.
