Raúl Grijalva and Ron Barber deserve thanks for not bowing to the mining interests --as so many of their fellow Democrats are doing-- and calling for resolution of the pending issues on the EIS. Personally, I hope Rosemont will NOT be approved, because it is a serious threat to the livelihood of many people in the east Santa Ritas and will use scarce water only to benefit Canadian and US capital.
It's time for legal action and hope that the US Supreme Court will uphold our 4th Amendment right to privacy. Obama's actions are not only despicable, but outrageous. He is worse than Bush.
My biggest disappointment in the Arizona primaries was the (expected) loss of Wenona Benally Baldenegro to Ann Kirkpatrick in CD1. Had she won, there would have been a much clearer contrast with Jonathan Paton, while Kirkpatrick will offer more concessions to the right. Also, I would have preferred Dr. Matt Heinz over Ron Barber in CD2, but I can live with Barber. So, now our best Arizona Congressperson will continue to be Raúl Grijalva, who should easily defeat Mercer in CD3. I was sorry to see Don Bivens drop out of the Senate primary and leave it all to Carmona, who is clearly a better option than Flake.
Keep up the good reporting!
