Re: “Riding Shotgun

Great work Sol. What a creative response to a really dumb plan to give away guns!

Re: “NRA Plans to Sue Tucson Police Department Over Destroying Bought-Back Guns

Those guys are really nut cases. Why are they so concerned about saving the lives of the guns and not people? Sane, reasonable guns lovers should reject what the NRA has become.

Re: “Update on Grijalva 'Hit Piece': Who Is Carlos Sierra?

I have voted for Raul since he was on the Tucson Unified School District Board and think he is one of the best things that has happened to southern Arizona. He cares about people and votes his conscience. He has the courage to be a true Progressive and sponsored the most creative solution to the budget crisis of anyone - even the Wall Street Journal said that budget was the best of all the budgets - Dem. or Rep. We need him back in Congress.

Re: “Two of Three

Why did you talk about where the other candidates stand on issues, and not tell us where Ms. Mach stands on issues like women's rights and public schools?

Re: “The Skinny

When Independent Committees spend money for a candidate, the candidate doesn't get it directly and can't give it back. Even if we accept Ms. Garcia's pleas of innocence, however, this whole incident shows her unreadiness to be in a legislature where groups like the AFC have major influence. Her late husband would have been savvy enough not to answer the questionnaire in the first place. Her lack of experience and naivete show that she is not the right person to represent Tucson in the Senate.

Re: “National GOP Group Spending Big on Tucson Dem's Race

Maria must have a lot those out of state far-right wingers like or they wouldn't spend that much money on an Arizona Democrat! The wonderful late Sen. Jorge Garcia would be horrified if he knew about it.

Re: “A Family Affair

Anyone who thinks when the cards are stacked 9 Democratic Senators against 21 Republican Senators that a Dem will get much Legislation passed or even heard in committee doesn't understand much about how the Legislature works today. Sen. Bedford succeeded in getting some really bad things stopped this year. If we can elect 5-6 more Democratic Senators, the Republicans won't have free rein to trample women's health, Tucson interests, or public schools. A lot more Democratic Representatives would help a lot too towards restoring balance and sanity to a Legislature out of control. People living in districts like 9 and 10, 11, and 14 must get out and vote for compassion and reason so things can change up there.
