Re: “Danehy

As a born and bred New Yorker, who lived not too far from "The Donald but is10 years his senior, I told my kids that he was entering the Republican Race not to run for President but to demonstrate to the American people what a pathetic group of minimal accomplishment candidates the Republican Party assembled on the Clown Bus. I think that he accomplished his task beyond his wildest dreams. Having flushed fourteen or so down the sewer. Some one once said "Thirty percent of any population of people consists of Fascists". That is pretty consistent with what Trump is drawing in the Republican Primary alone. Since I can't imagine a 70 year old billionaire putting up with 4 years of contending with what passes for a Congress and the abuse that President Obama put up with for eight years, he'll drop out and endorse Hillary as the only competent person in the final race. He has performed a great public service for America. Oh. Look for a repeat of Nixon 2 when Mitt gets the nod again. "If at first you don't succeed try, try again".

Re: “Danehy

Bingo Tom you nailed it. Club the dummies over the head in the hope that eventually they'll get it. Arizona's
Republican party exists not to govern and manage the State's resources but to get re elected to funnel the tax payers money to the wealth oligarchy and the religious crackpots who they pander to to get the funds to continue the process. I hate to sound like a communist but I have to say it, the Republican Party is the enemy of the people. Look at any proposition from the legislature that appears on the ballot and you see them presenting a knife to the voters so that a yes vote becomes an invitation to cut their own throats. Proposition 123 with no guarantees to aid education promises triggers to continue their destruction of Public Education and the promise to use the funds to defend these criminals in the continued court cases to to come to bring them to justice for their contempt of the voters. Prop. 123 another big money bag for the legislature to "balance the budget" now that they've almost gone through the education funds to steal from.. It will be interesting to see what creative ways they come up with.
The nerve of these people to ask for an increase in pay for their mismanagement of the State was monumental. The refusal of the voters to agree with them gives a small glimmer of hope to the democratic process.
The continuing efforts by men and postmenopausal women in the legislature, to pass unconstitutional laws obstructing the rights of all fertile women's access to abortion, is a perfect example of their pandering to special interests and using it as an excuse to avoid their real job that we pay them to do. How about spending some time to come up with a FAIR tax code that gives all a chance to contribute?

Re: “Danehy

Another one of those good law abiding gun toting citizens of Arizona the other day hopped on his bike and chased an evil doer and shoot him in the back killing him because he stole 2 packages of beer from a chain outlet that wisely prohibits its own employees from exercising this same stupid move. Only the theft of two loaves of bread would exceed this stupidity. Will the states attorney prosecute this dimwit for murder of any degree? That is doubtful, but if so then 12 dimwits on a jury, will most likely, find that the probable defense that he felt his life was threatened, justifies a non guilty verdict.

Re: “Danehy

Tom, you make a good point about 5 things being too much for the average Arizonan to handle. A lot of them have trouble being able to drive a car and to understand that a red light means STOP. To read five bond proposals and make a decision on how to vote on each is too taxing for the average rube to handle. It is so much simpler to vote no across the board and then complain next month about the pot holes that are knocking the Hell out of his car.

Re: “Danehy

Bravo Tom, another factual column that will be lost on the rubes who repeatedly reelect the same dimwits over and over while the state sinks into the sewer and the jobs never come here. When is the state going to get slammed for stealing the COLA that education was mandated to get years ago? The judge ruled they have to pay a continuously changing amount (depends on who you read) but no contempt of court ruling after the legislature says that they won't pay. As for Governor Douche bag and his promises we see more of the big con job in action.

At 79 when people ask me about living in Arizona I tell them that it is a great place to die but if you have kids or are looking for a job go some where else to live. A great way to lose friends is to advise them to start a life here.

Re: “Danehy

You have not mentioned "the Donald", that beloved American hoaxr, who is of course not running for president but has made a commitment to demonstrate to the American voter what a class of clowns the Republican party has presented to them this time. I am hoping that one or more of the assembled incompetents makes the mistake of attacking him. That should provide us with some fun in his retorts, using the New York brand of put down humor, so endearing to those folks in the other 49 states. Laugh On!

Great article that caused me to remember 1970, when my younger son was born and it was the last year that the corporate and wealthy takers paid their fair share of American Taxes. It was the start of the great middle class wage reduction and the demise of organized labor as a force promoting equity in our capitalist society.
