A refresher on the facts:
A scanned image of the birth certificate was available since the summer of 2008 for anyone to review. See it at

The Director of Hawii's Department of Health certified that a valid birth certificate is on file for Obama. A description of this is at

Birth announcements exist in two separate Honolulu papers, marking the occasion, when it happened:

Several court cases have thrown out challenges to the certification for lack of evidence, and snopes has a description of one of Obama's early teachers specifically remembering the news of his birth.

I list these, not to address the conspiracy theorists above, who will continue to find odd "coincidences" to dismiss the evidence, but to remind others, like me, who are surprised this stale excuse for a controversy is not only alive but backed by some of our legislators. The legislators should be pressed for why they are wasting state time to address an issue with such overwhelming evidence against it.
