Even if Flake loses his job come election time, he'll still be better off than the thousands of people who will die needlessly between now and then. The gun lobby has seen to that.
Well, that didn't take long. Cue government conspiracy theories in 5...4...3...
I believe that most people are decent, hard working, and just trying to do the best they can. Am I ever wrong? Sometimes with a frequency that's downright absurd. But my faith is always restored. Sometimes by the words of those like Mr. Oswalt. Sometimes by the guy sitting next to me on the bus (no, not THAT guy, the other one). Besides which, the alternative leads to a place where one believes that 47% of people are lazy no-accounts who just want free stuff. I can't be that guy.
If my only choices were to be a victim of the darkness, or to become part of it, I would choose the former. Of course, ideally, one should avoid both.

Women's reproductive rights? Not even on the list. Legalized prostitution, however... Nice to see where their priorities lie.
Once an organization reaches a certain size, its efficiency tends to drop dramatically. This is true of most human endeavors. There are ways to postpone this, but the public is rarely well served by them.
They can't be that stupid. Nobody could, and still retain the ability to form complete sentences. That only leaves malice. This country really needs a law, making it illegal for the media to knowingly lie to the public. The absence of such a law is the only reason Fox News exists.
