Debbi L - #VoteProgressive. Check out my ideas on my website Powers For The People dot net. My platform is much different from the privately funded candidates. Also, since I have been a blogger for 10 years, it is easy for people to find my opinions on just about everything.
Thanks, Nick, for a fair and balanced report of our race.
Thanks for the mention, Jim. In addition to being a progressive blogger and activist, my day job is managing editor of the American Journal of Medicine. I filed my paperwork with the Secretary of State as a Clean Elections candidate this week. It's time to end the Tea Party's reign of terror and end government against the people. pam
A few people told me that there was an "official looking" video crew, but when I wrote to the city at the Broadway address, they said only TV crews were there. My friend confirmed tonight that someone taped the whole thing. Who?
I heard the speeches were eloquent against the widening. The public should hear them.
Regarding salaries for UA faculty and staff, that used to be discoverable online and at the campus library.
What is the source of these statistics? I'm not disputing them-- just curious as to the original source.
"...tuition and fees for in-state students has increased 188 percent in the last decade, merely 24 percent of the UA's budget is spent on instruction..."
"... University of Phoenix, which (spends) only 12 percent on instruction..."
DL has brought hundreds of people to The Shanty-- including Congressional representatives-- and given The Shanty years of *free* publicity. Who is anonymous and how does he know how much was spent over ~eight years? Wait staff on the patio would have helped the beer sales.
The headline is misleading. The parting was mutual. DL dumped the Shanty also. Despite the thousands of dollars DL spent at the Shanty, the hundreds of politicians we brought there to speak, and all of the free social media wasted on promoting that place, we were disrespected on many occasions by the Shanty. The June 25 event was the last double-booking we'll have to suffer. And for the record, Al Flick, it was a member of your group who walked over to the DL group and stood in the middle of it shouting and putting us down.
Good customer service goes a long way, as competition increases. With the Shanty's new competition in the downtown beer joint genre, we'll see how it goes for this "classic" in the future.
I love it when "news" organizations quote anonymous name callers as sources.
Also, the photo is still on Facebook.
