So happy for you Randy! The Vibe has been kicking butt with an understanding of the format and the Tucson Listeners, Slow Jams is the perfect fit and look forward to the new home!
Welcome back to the airwaves Alan Micheals, more then anything giving him the passion to do what he loves doing! I honestly feel calling it oldies is such a disservice to an era of music that we continue to play on KGVY and other stations in town. This is music which had never gone the wayside and continues to influence the artist of today, sometimes a little too much - ask Robin Thicke about that one!
I don't think back in the 60's Big Band music was referred to as "oldies" it was people's favorites, that's where we best identify with the music we grew up with. Favorites and Classic Hits. Best wishes to you Alan! Have a blast!
Thanks for the KGVY nod, however - you listened to Groove which is a Journal Owned station and not KGVY, not a bad sound on Groove but check out 1080AM, thats KGVY in Green Valley
I'm bummed I never got the chance to work with Adrienne, I have heard great things about her and saw her a few times when she worked on the air at KFMA before her and Scott took over the morning show. She's got some real talent and if she continues in this biz, she'll continue to do great! Love ya AM!!
Sounds justified to me if the library is funded with tax payer money
There is so much talent that is still in this market that were let go over the past couple of years that we can only hope stations find the answer to hire and allow them to do what they do best.
Wow! Thanks RJ - (Love that Name - UHF is one of my favorites!)
