Rat T. - Rather than posting your usual snark, please point out what services you deem unnecessary? I agree there is plenty of waste in public and private education, but I don't think services are where the problem lies.
Falafel is not Greek cuisine.
Odd, considering Huppenthal's sometime nom de plume, that he fails Logic 101. He presumes that frugality leads to improved student outcomes, yet provides no evidence to support this. Perhaps an analysis of weather patterns or the success rate of Wildcat basketball would provide similar results.
I've always considered "educational research" to be an oxymoron, not unlike "military intelligence". You can always find a study somewhere that will support your argument. More valuable, in my opinion, are those that disagree.
I may be wrong, but I think it's biologically impossible to pee pants. Edible underwear, perhaps?
Propaganda? I'm not sure you know what the word means. However, it is a pretty bad piece of journalism, puerile and self-absorbed. I learned nothing I didn't already know about Kenya. It's little wonder the author didn't want to give his last name.
@What Again -- you're still living in the last century. Tucson teachers work 10 months a year, at an average of 60 hours a week. Collective bargaining? The transit workers recently went on strike for 20-some days - something no teacher would do. Last, I see that you would rather have uneducated "illegals" (as if that's a noun) than uneducated ones doing the jobs that you won't do. Now, that is illegal.
