Re: “Lana Del Rey: Born to Die (Interscope)

How about 1st place for least consequential pop album of the year? Or 1st place for lowest content-to-coverage ratio of the year?

Re: “Fleet Foxes: Helplessness Blues (Sub Pop)

Great review. Totally agree the class fantasies about orchard labor are weird but that, despite those missteps, it's sort of a wonderful record.

Re: “Lupe Fiasco: Lasers (Atlantic)

Thanks for the thoughts.... I would not classify Lasers as "danceable mediocrity," but of course these things are subjective. I don't, however, agree that something commercial can NEVER be good. Lupe Lite is fine by me for hot summer jams. And frankly, sometimes our young "geniuses" could use some editing, and some lightening up. He didn't have to sign to Atlantic if he didn't want to make artistic compromises......

Re: “Them Crooked Vultures: Them Crooked Vultures (Sony)

Myrtle, your comment is a great example of an ad hominem argument. Why not attack the ideas in Ms. Holub's review instead of attacking the writer?

Re: “The Raveonettes: In and Out of Control (Vice)

Aren't these comment supposed to be about the music review, not the reviewer?
