I checked out the show at O'Malleys on Sat. 18th. LA Guns, Bang Tango, and a few local bands. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the show to be outstanding because it is just a local show.
I was surprised at how well Bang Tango sounded after being around for 100 years or so and LA Guns wasn't the same without Traci Guns but they were extremely loud though.
The biggest shock of the night was this local band, Beyond The Firewall. In my opinion, (and I've been giving my opinion on music and bands for over 36 years), they are the best original rock band I have seen in years. Their music is a mix of heavy progressive metal with melodic tones and great lyrics. You can tell the influence of the great bands when you hear them like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Rainbow, Thin Lizzy, and the list goes on.
I'm happy I got to see them now because I'm not paying $85 a ticket to see them when they sign with a major label. LOL!! Anyway, I felt I must say something about these guys because Tucson isn't really the mecca of Rock & Roll like we all hope it will be one day and if there is one band you should see before they get too big for Tucson, it's Beyond The Firewall.
I have in no, been payed for my reveiw on, Beyond The Firewall, or The Tucson Weekly.
