In addition to the above, five main reasons why gas prices are down:
#1: People are driving less - less demand, prices fall, so you can probably expect a bump as we head into the holidays.
#2: Cheaper gas blends are refined in winter - equates to lower gas prices at the pump.
#3: The price of oil has been falling - once again, equates to lower gas prices at the pump, see comment just above.
#4: No major disasters - weak hurricane season did not play havoc with US oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.
#5: Consumer confidence - weaken consumer confidence has helped push gas prices to their lowest level since February. The slide in consumer confidence may not impact gasoline demand as much as the other factors but it should still result in noticeably lower gas prices.

As a referee in the AIA system for the past 7 years, this last season was remarkably different than in the previous seasons I have participated in. Many of the matches I was involved in were severely lopsided, with many teams being way 'over their skis', never having ever been in a match with the caliber of team they found themselves playing. Also, in talking with coaches, pretty much to the man (or woman) they had nothing good to say about the new system. From my perspective, it did not really matter because I tend to try to focus on the individual match assigned (short pause for a snicker), I try not to get caught up in the overall standings and how particular teams are doing. It is clear, however, from my experience this year, that the system is broken.
Are you kidding me?!? The American people aren't suffering because we have invested too much in the space program. The American people are suffering because we have invested too much in rich entitlement and corporate greed.
