Great event with so much to do for people and their dogs! One correction - the website is DogtoberfestAZorg.
Where? Who can one contact to participate?
Last year, Wingspan Senior Pride did a great job of attracting over 300 people to a screening of the film "Gen Silent." This year's program, according to the folks who have been planning it, will be even better. And I understand there will be good substantial snacks, too!
Please, I beg of you, do NOT go to their show. This production deserved NO stars. We went on 9/28, and I am still angry about losing $90.80 (incl tax). There were four "actors" who wanted to be somewhere else. A group of middle school kids could put on a better show. The acting was mundane without any flair or expertise whatsoever. It seemed to be totally impromptu and unrehearsed. Lousy Halloween costumes. The vampire didn't even bother to wear some convincing make-up. Unprofessional. They (or we) might as well have been reading on stage from a script. Little facial expression. The audience participation was the only good part. The tired old jokes were often crude and just not so funny. (Children were present.) Guppie was better as the inspector. The gypsy brought some enthusiasm to his work and at least dressed for the part. . . . . he had to because he is a man playing a woman. The story was stupid, unimaginative and ridiculous. The venue was the back room of a Chinese restaurant. Smelled. About 45 people stuffed into this small room next to the restrooms. There was NO stage, only a single backdrop, and 2 floodlights in back shown into the faces of half the audience. The meal was also a disappointing joke. Only water was served with the meal, and you had to ask for it. I went to the bar twice to get water for me and Mom. $2 for pop or iced tea. Not-so-fresh salad with same dressing for all. No bread & butter. Lots of noodles in a bland white (alfredo?) sauce. I think the chicken and rice in the breading was real. Half the people at my table of 8 barely touched their meal. Dessert was a TINY piece of cheap cheesecake, definitely not Cheesecake Factory. Please believe me, we were not the only people dissatisfied with the show and the meal. Those who purchased liquor or beer may have been happier. To add insult to injury, the actors said they were unpaid and asked for tips. Can you believe it -- at $42 a head for crappy acting and crappy food. PLEASE DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS! 10/07/13
In my opinion, this is a very lopsided panel set to discuss the Rosemont project. Each one of the panelist has a vested interest in assuring that the project fails. It would have been absolute stupidity for Rosemont to send a representative to try and discuss this with a group of five against him.
Why are representatives of the Arizona Mining Association or other pro-development groups not invited? Or even a good economist who can speak to the many downstream benefits mining brings could be a good addition to the group.
This is simply another act in the seemingly never-ending charade being played by those who seek to keep Arizona’s economy moribund by stopping any and all opportunities to develop its God-given riches. It is an absolute travesty to dignify this public lynching of a good project by calling it what it is not – a panel discussion.
Never been to Tucson, but your entertainment is great. I used to dance to Danny Abarr's band in Salt Lake City, Ut. Oh, by the way he is the best dancer I had the privilage to dance with.

this band was awesome!!! wish they were still together
I received this CD as a gift from my niece who had seen Pablo perform in Pennsylvania. Pablo eloquently captures the struggles of those immigrating to US from the South of the border. He captures the pain, the horrible deaths, and the spirit of the people. The song "Si Se Puede" with the chant "El Pueblo Unido Jamas Sera Vencido" is inspiring to many of us who have been involved in the Chicano and other struggles. His song "Guacamole" was so "alegre and with such a great beat, I just had to get up and dance. The guitar and other musicians on the CD are excellent. Pablo's Spanish is also excellent. After listening to the CD, my husband, Chicano Muralist Leo Tanguma was inspired to paint a mural about the immigration struggle and I wanted to do more to help. I would like to know where to buy another copy of the CD. tangumaj@njhealth..org.
This event is awesome and without peer in Tucson. The food you eat is like what your grandma would make (if you had a Thai grandma). The first time we went, I was a little nervous, as I had never been in a Buddhist temple before; but, it's been smooth sailing ever since. Recommend you wear sandals with no socks, as you must remove your shoes before entering. If you end up eating in the rear garden, you won't want socks on (it's soft sand). If you eat in the temple, you must be shoeless also. Try this once, you will hooked. Best kept 'secret' in Tucson.
PLEASE NOTE: This listing is wrong. The address for amazing discoveries is 2410 E Broadway Blvd (they moved a year and a half ago). Also this event is 2PM-7PM, NOT 7-10.
If you guys are ever looking for a no chain restaurant with a great atmosphere and good service I defiantly recommend this place located at the foothill malls. The moment I walked into the place and saw all these guitars hung on the wall signed by all these great guitarist I knew right away that this was the place for me and after talking to the chief there I was so surprise that he knew about my old guitar teacher back when I took lessons at guitar center. I had the shrimp scamp and the shrimp tasted so good and fresh! I would so go back to this place!
This is gonna rule. :)
Where would results be posted online?
This event goes until 8:30, not 9:00. Sorry for the confusion.
The City improvements are beautiful. If you haven't been to Sentinel Peak Park recently, go check it out, then come help us celebrate August 1 at 5:30.
Love this! Beautiful displays, wonderful items, friendly staff. A real pleasure. Better parking would be wonderful but part of the charm is the building.
