Re: “Linda Ronstadt Not a Fan of Downtown These Days

While she was in Cuba which she seems to admire so much she should have moved there instead and joined the breadlines for her ration. Also her income would all go to the Communist government. She is very ungrateful to be an American citizen by those remarks.

Re: “Here's an Article About Chimichangas Designed to Make You Angry

This should be an onion article. I know the author was trying to offend and upset, but this is to funny and ridiculous to to become angry about.

I just posted on the Williamette Week. Your friend is a bad writer. Sure felt good trashing his writing in his own newspaper. Maybe you should not have cited him. That didn't go well did it.

Re: “Linda Ronstadt Not a Fan of Downtown These Days

She should move to Biosphere II. It has futuristic architecture, is owned by her old school U.A. that she attended and she could live in a bubble.

The writer has been smoking a lot of dope. Boring, not funny, just plain dumb.

Re: “Stalinist Architecture or UA Off-Campus Student Housing?

Ralph Hill:
They called Stalinist so all of the Progressive Liberals could relate to the building.

Portland is an awful place. I work there. It's terrible for any business that's not named Nike, Intel or Facebook and the people are self-important, self-absorbed pussies.

Very nice for any party member to really understand that opinions of others are OK, and to be respectful of another, regardless of their feelings. /sarcasm.

Re: “Here's an Article About Chimichangas Designed to Make You Angry

Hard to make a comment to this potentialy libelous article that would be published. Portland is a lovely downtown with lots of yuppie restaurants and pretty buildings. Too bad Oregonians do not understand that people do not need a socialist state to both survive and prosper. Arizona gets that part pretty well and we enjoy our ethnic diversity in both cuisine and people

Re: “City to Address Streetcar Gridlock & Rider Delays Following 2nd Saturday Troubles

Maybe a little less frequency during the day and a little more frequency at night. I live downtown and by the time I wait for a streetcar, I could have walked to my destination faster. I highly doubt the street cars need to run every 10 minutes from 9a-11a and from 1p-4p.

Re: “First Look at Paul Rudd as Marvel's 'Ant Man'

Yep, that's Paul Rudd, alright. Good catch USA Today!

Looks like he's in San Francisco...kind of got that "van down by the river" feel to it. Although, technically, it's the ocean, not a river. I wonder if that brings things up?

Maybe they'll get to release a photo with him actually in a costume or something?

Re: “Stalinist Architecture or UA Off-Campus Student Housing?

I grew up in Tucson, went to the U, left in the 80's. What I have come to learn in my travels since that time is that the vast majority of us are powerless to make our entire town what WE want it to be, that's just the way it is. Sure we can make our little corner of our world what we want, but outside of that we are impacted by what a very small group of people dedcide to do. However, if there is a particular climate, surroundings, scenery, etc. that suits you then go there and be happy. My mother still lives there and what I called a quail hunt is now a golf resort, I miss that land absent something called "The Gallery", but it wasn't my land to do with as I pleased. "You can never go home again" so the saying goes. For many of you Tucson is what you found it to be when you arrived, for me it will always be what I left behind. The nieghborhood I grew up went from Mayberry to a high crime rate area in about 2 decades, they have indeed taken paradise and put up a parking lot and so it goes. Life's too short to subject yourself to a situation you find intolerable, that being said; do I miss the view of the Catalinas from my mother's backyard or Randolph Golf Course? Every damn day. I suppose that's what memories are for. There's no perfect anything in life unless you decide it is.

Stalinist architecture? I find that a bit partisan theory!:-) How about austere architecture?

Re: “Linda Ronstadt Not a Fan of Downtown These Days

I love the commits here, I wonder if Linda bothers to read them?
I love her commits about loving going to Mexico. I'm sure that she'll really love it when Narco-terrorists kidnaps her or her children.
Linda, we all love you! But what the hell happened to you to cause your head to be screwed on backwards?

Re: “Stalinist Architecture or UA Off-Campus Student Housing?

What should a 13 story residential building (with ground floor retail/restaurant) look like in 2014 if not this? I welcome examples from other communities.
