Re: “The Skinny

Republicans say the word , "LIBERAL" like it was some filthy disease ridden animal but they are too stupid to comprehend that Jesus, Jefferson, Washington, Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt were all LIBERALS otherwise there would be no PROGRESS in the United States or the world because Republicans are content to keep everything the same forever or regress into the past. Republicans are basically paranoid schizophrenic narcissistic bigots with delusions of grandeur and you can quote me on that.

Re: “Does This Mean We Can Call It McSallyCare Now?

McSally should know the reason there are problems with the ACA is that John Roberts let individual states refuse medicaid expansion, thereby devastating the insurance pool, and still the premiums were lower than before the ACA. They chipped away at it, including the insane decision that Hobby Lobby could refuse reproductive care in spite of the fact that they actually owned stock in those companies, and republicans spent upwards of $50 million trying to kill it instead of helping to fix it the way the democrats kept inviting them to do. She's quite the little leader, falling into line with the orange lemmings. Some leadership skills.

Re: “Does This Mean We Can Call It McSallyCare Now?

I'm guessing there is a slim chance Republicare will make it through the house. I'm betting it will be shot down in the senate. If these scenarios play out, the Trump administration and the Republicans in congress will become victims of a possibly paralyzing self-inflicted wound. Repeal and Replace made for a great rallying call during the campaigns but now, like so much of Trump's sturm und drang, reality steps in and the hard work of governing becomes the order of the day over endless campaigning and ego-inflating rallies.

The newest volume of the great American Tragedy is the specter of the opposition's (what remains of the Democratic Party) whimpering on the sidelines still dazed by the thrashings they've received in the latest presidential, congressional, gubernatorial and state legislative elections. Political heroes seem to be emerging but from the ranks of the Republican congress increasingly disgusted by the new administration and its anti-American actions, cabinet appointments, executive orders, proposed budgets and hare-brained legislation. We are in the privileged position of watching the two members of the American duopoly implode. The Democrats and Republicans will survive in some form but will continue to be drained of membership and together represent a minority of voters. That's when the fun begins.

Re: “The Skinny

Here was NV Sen. Cathy Cortez Masto on Twitter yesterday: "Theres no room for hate or discrimination in the White House. I will be an outspoken voice against that every time." Would be so easy for Rep. McSally to do something similar. The fact that she refuses is very telling.

Re: “Guest Opinion

To the boneheads who think this was the right thing to do. First, if you had a clue who the 75K SSA recipients were and how they were treated, you might understand. SSA finds out that someone is not taking care of themselves, investigates, then goes to court to have a Conservator appointed as the individuals have proven not to be able to take care of everyday business, such as paying rent, buying food, keeping themselves clean and healthy. Their funds are then put in the hands of the Conservator who is required to report how the money is used. To put guns in the hands of someone declared incapable of handling day to day living simply belies common sense much less the implications of legal responsibility should these individuals commit a crime. These are not the hundreds of thousands of disabled on SSA benefits, but a small portion of the whole.
Further, the same is true of Veterans Administration beneficiaries with mental illnesses. So, what Flake is saying is that it is OK to have someone with mental illnesses such as PTSD of such severity that a representative payee is appointed to be able to own guns. Do you want someone like that next door with your children running amok outside? Again, this is a small subset of veterans receiving benefits.

Jewish American teen living in Israel arrested for JCC bomb threats, including the ones called in to the Tucson JCC. Trump vindicated. This entire thing is a hoax. Oy Vey!…

Re: “Guest Opinion

So much misrepresentation, hyperbole, and blatant falsehoods in this article that I will not lower myself to try and respond point by point.

However, this kind of hit piece is to be expected from the left.

Do I like Flake? No, for many reasons. But he got this vote right.

Thank you for this Pat, it beggars belief that a public servant such as he is can be such a blatant hypocrite and not be called out on it more widely. Ridiculous too that there should be any support for these repeals of sensible laws.

Re: “On the Theory and Practice of Bullshitting

He rarely shares his opinions regarding controversial topics, like the Muslum ban. I don't understand how the governor of a border state was able to remain silent on the topic. Called just about everyday and everyday he had not come up with an opinion? Seems like he's afraid of his shadow and is a definite yes man to Trump. Not impressed and disappointed with the people of Arizona for not demanding more.

Re: “Arizona ACA Enrollment Down 3.3 Percent. Cost For People With Subsidies Down 13.3 Percent.

Medicare withholding is 1.45% of you income. Employers match the 1.45 for a total of 2.90. So if Rick prepaid it he earned 24 million dollars in his earning years and has now used up all his prepayments? You folks really don't understand the math.

She won't get my vote again, nor will any politician who supports this assinine ACT. They are betting on the ignorance of their constituents who won't take the time to see how wrong this is. The Republicans are no where close to having their ACT together to take care of the public. If we have to accept what they do then they should have to live by the same rules, now that's a joke.

To those worrying about how many $85K procedures the government can pay for, please look closely at your paychecks. We are all paying for those, and Rick prepaid his proceedure with a lifetime of medicare deductions from his paycheck, matched by his employers' contributions. For those of us who are sel-employedm our payment is double (we pay both the employee half and the employer half).

Re: “Does This Mean We Can Call It McSallyCare Now?

Basic fundamentals should be part of any health care in this country. 1. Everyone should be covered, since every living human needs health care at some point in life. 2. Everyone should contribute to their health care, based on their ability to pay. 3. Everything essential to life should be covered, including preventative measures. 4. Elected plastic surgery is not covered. 5. Drugs must affordable.

Re: “Arizona ACA Enrollment Down 3.3 Percent. Cost For People With Subsidies Down 13.3 Percent.

That $85k procedure would cost less than $35k (or even less) in any other industrialized nation. These trolls can't see the forest for the Trees Rick!

Pharmaceutical companies spend 3 times as much money on advertising than they do on research!

There is so much unnecessary waste in our system. Health care cost were going up before Obama care at a higher rate than they were after Obama care, and people want to go back to that? Fuck that mess, fuck Obamacare and fuck Trumpcare. Non-profit is the only solution!
