Re: “Underwear Party

Apparently Irene didn't take much from Mari's Body Revolution cover storyin the March 20-26 issue. http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tucson/body-revolution/Content?oid=4026028.

If she had, maybe she would have thought about not immediately starting this blurb by injecting every reader with anxiety about their figure, making them question whether or not they're in 'good enough' shape to attend. I mean this blurb is supposed to be promotional, not alienating... no? How about "Whatever you did or didn't do to get ready for pool season, shed your clothes and have a great f*cking time"?

Now excuse me while I finish my ice cream and try on the hot dog underwear I bought for this party.

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

These illegals are being shipped all around the country have not been screened properly for diseases or the MS13 gang members haven't been removed. There was two sent from Nogales sent to a California hospital with a high fever and it it hard telling how many more there are that we are not being told about.
This is all political so they can force amnesty on us like all the other crap that has been forced on us. This is a stupid move because it is going to do more harm to the economy than has already been done. Cheap labor and more votes for the democrats what it is all about.

Re: “Andrew Thomas Will Fight the Mexicans, Gays and Liberals, According to His Terrible New Ad

Why are all these Republicans running negative campaigns? Don't they have any positive ideas? Job Growth? Education Reform? Maybe getting the economy going?

Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

Someguy...I am only up for that if you are footing the whole bill. Of course I already help to support the 50 million+ (or one out of six in this country) folks already on the plan you suggested.

There's a word for that. Extortion.

Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

Allyn Hill - it almost sounds like you support some sort of large, institutional program in this country to help feed needy kids. Like a large, nationwide body that could issue some kind of food voucher to help families in need, and their kids, and help subsidize food at schools, healthy food even, to ensure those kids get to eat lunch. SOCIALIST! SOCIALIST!

Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

Mari, I guess you continue to carry the water for the Liberal agenda. When will you figure out all this will come to an abrupt end when the "other people's" money runs out? Oh, I know, you, like our great president, think money is just created by turning on the printing press. Oh, and while I am at it...what about all the starving children in this country who really are citizens? When do they get taken care of. As usual, your heart if way larger than your brain.

Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

I wonder how the the folks in Jordan and Turkey react to the millions of Syrians who have run to the border to get away from the Syrian civil war?

Most Americans have no idea what hell is like.

Re: “Danehy

The only thing missing from this column was an old school rim shot after every bullet. If you know anything about Columbia and it's history of land grabs, you would not bat an eye at the 50th anniversary of FARC. It's simply the same as it ever was (water flowing underground).

Tom is not better than Gwyneth, only different.

Billboard's pop chart was relevant in the 20th century, but not in this century. Kinda like book reviews used to be relevant, when buying a book and reading it was the only way people experienced books.

Add the obligatory rim shot after every sentence.

Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

Ah, guns and racial slurs. A tried and true staple. What really pisses me off is that the faction of people who show up to protest the presence of these kids make it their goal to run off any Republican who dares to support any kind of immigration reform. This is so bad for the country, and so short-sighted. Even as a liberal Democrat, I'm aware that my side doesn't have all the ideas and all the answers, so it would be nice if the other party was able to offer something constructive, not just 'send 'em home, build a fence!" it's not your goddamn backyard, and militarization of the border and destructive fence building are non-starters.

Great photography though.

Re: “Reefer Research Madness

Um, is it just me or does it seem like this was written using the MicroSoft Windows Phone's "Voice to Text" function? I'm curious now to get the paper addition and find all the same typos. Reminds me of the time I contacted CNN about the rampant simple errors in stories. The response I got was that they get stories off the "wire" and just run them. I suggested they run stories through some kind of MicroSoft Word grammar/spellcheck before posting.

Other than that this was a fascinating read. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Re: “Danehy

No, its Republicans.

Only someone who has been duped out of expecting services in return for taxes could be convinced otherwise. But once you've crossed that rubicon, all manner of foolish self delusion is possible.

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

Reminds me of 2006 - we were living in Oracle when the Glow festival held annually at the Triangle L Ranch was invaded by Pinal County Sheriff's deputies. Eight deputies raided what they thought was a rave or worse and stampeded the peaceful arts festival frightening the families gathered there including kids and elderly residents. Not quite a police riot but an ugly incident that with a different crowd might have erupted into violence.

http://www.tucsonnewsnow.com/story/5406071…

The difference was the Sheriff at that time acknowledged the deputies' terrible judgement and apologized for their behavior. This time the sheriff orchestrated the near mayhem and insists he did nothing wrong in leaking the news of an invasion of disease ridden aliens to his friend, a rabble rousing xenophobe, and his dozens of followers.

If you are curious about the people of Oracle drive up and attend this year's Glow festival in September. Not quite Woodstock - but a far cry from Murietta.

We'll put mr. Hahn. Ignorance spawns hate and fear. And what is criminal, is the hypocrisy of the "Christ-like" xenophobes of the republicant sect.

Hey, Rangers. This was originally written by Mo Goldman. He's the mastermind behind this op-ed. The author field didn't updated like it should have. Sorry for the confusion.

Career Researcher, although its not clear what a "career researcher" is or does, at least not to me; I suspect a quick check of your IP address will show this spin-doctoring came from the senate or the University
