Re: “There's a March Against Monsanto Saturday

I'm sorry, but what does that comment have to do with the post you're commenting on? I realize that you've only got one card to play, so you're going to play it until it wears out, but you might get more traction for it if it is used where appropriate.

Also, most, if not all, cult members live in houses, not caves. Some live in very nice houses, like the ones lived in by Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

Re: “There's a March Against Monsanto Saturday

Dumb!!! Absolutely stupid!!!! Better said - evil!!!!

I wager that not one of these anti-GMO types has stood next to a person dying of starvation - needless starvation, because GMOs could be planted where nothing else can survive the pest and/or weather conditions. I have been there and seen the suffering, even the death of many because of ill-informed, emotion-based beliefs.

By way of example, the outlawing of DDT has caused the death of millions, yes millions for the same reason. I have personally buried children, with their parents, in the malaria- infested jungles of Africa that would be alive if not for the banning of DDT.

Banning of GMOs is equally evil, yes evil as it will kill people - GMOs will not.

When the persons responsible are caught and identified and found guilty, then as punishment, spray paint each and every possession they own, down to their socks. That would include their house, their car...etc..

Re: “Meanwhile, in Other News . . .

One only needs to compare salary ranges and it explains the myth that the left wants you to believe. Funding is less because pay scale is lower.

salary ranges: minimum salaries from $45,000-$50,000, maximum from $75,000-$82,000 and average from $50,000 to $55,000-Washington Post, salaries for teachers in DC.

the average $76,000 average salary for Chicago teachers cited by Chicago Public Schools-cbs news

Feb 13, 2015 - Tucson Teacher Salary: $35664

Based on local market and cost of living. Real estate is 25% of the cost of the areas cited above.

If there was a thriving job market and low tax base salaries would be increasing.

You can't have it both ways. States don't print money. Only the fed does when they are buying elections.

Re: “Tasty Serial

I had the honor of producing the audio book version of this novel. It was my first experience with the work of Joe Brown. I, along with the narrator, Jan Smith, were immersed in a story that was rich in imagery and emotion. Many times we found ourselves taken away to another place with Cap and Billy. JPS Brown is without a doubt one of this country's great American authors. John Forbes, Atlanta

Re: “Meanwhile, in Other News . . .

David S. thank you for some positive information about what is going on around us . I would like to post some information because I saw the cost of educating vs. the cost of incarcerating from 40 states recently. It is shown that Arizona is on the very low end of what it spends on education and TUSD is even at the low end in Arizona. Just one more fact for all who are concerned about finances: Southern Arizona is 200 teachers short because the pay is so low. Administrators need to be paid and they are not high at all compared to other states Taxpayers should be begging to pay more in taxes for education. If we had a governor like the one in Minnesota, Arizona would truly prosper. http://money.cnn.com/infographic/economy/e…

Re: “Critics Call McCain's Oak Flat Tactics a New Low

This is what happens when people get caught up with materialism and that means greed and gluten on manipulations and hypocritical preaching to coax fake religious republicans to bleed this land. They don't care of the out come, they don't care for their children, they don't care for their children's children. The government pollutes our skies with chemtrails that have hard metals that cause serious respiratory problems, Ailments of all sorts come from these dusters in the skies. I saw this coming when i was young.I'm still somewhat young.but i recall seeing billowing clouds and bright blue skies.you don't see that anymore. If we cannot get together and hardcore protest we will fail if you feel your heart beat hard over this major disaster.we need to get stoic!! Let's get something going.radically like all these other riots.but ours will be real for real reasons, reasons that this is our land!!!

Re: “Meanwhile, in Other News . . .

Sorry but it is very easy to see what the radicals at TUSD are up to. Nobody said don't educate people. I have said quit wasting money.

With the budget cuts, how many TUSD administrators have lost their jobs? Please tell us.

How many TUSD teachers have been laid off or had their pay cut? How many?

Read the link...Though the idea was born from a school rally in which TUSD Superintendent H.T. Sanchez and elected officials lambasted a state budget that “robs our schools,”

Robs our schools? State budget cuts did not allow buildings to fall into disrepair. TUSD let them fall apart. Students have left for other districts, and revenues HAD to be reduced. TUSD still doesn't see what's coming. They graduate kids that can't make change at a cash register, can't read, and they believe they need to understand voting? What would they vote for? Handouts.

We know the game.

Re: “Meanwhile, in Other News . . .

I am so impressed that they are teaching and encouraging students to exercise their vote. They have already seen and it appears to have learned from people who do not vote(you Dems who did not vote). I have often been impressed by the fact that Republicans vote more than Dems in midterms. I am so surprised anyone could find such a healthy education to be not good. Is anyone saying that they should NOT be teaching people who are old enough to vote to NOT vote or to not make it accessible ? I didn't think so. Any good American would encourage all who can vote to vote. Learning to recognize our responsibilities as good citizens to vote is important. These appear to be the same people who want education funds to be cut. Apparently some here just don't believe in educating people. Very very sad. And they have the audacity to call it 'indoctrination'.
