Re: “Editor's Note

I am distressed over the city's collective obcession over weed, THC, and the obsessive focus on marijuana for medical purposes. You know and I know when (not if) it becomes legal for wider distribution, and it will, that massive amounts of money are to be made, and the elements that now flood Colorado will soon hit Tucson's front doors. I would prefer collective media in this town to just be up front with us and let it all hang out: you want it here, you can't wait, and some of you hope to cash in on what for most of us has been a life time of really rotten wages.
Colorado's wage base has always been better than ours, I know, I left here in 1990, lived there for 10 years and made far more coin than I ever did here. Legalizing pot here will change the wage profiles almost overnight. Howsomever, it should be noted that Colorado's governor has recently said it was a mistake. No further details are available.
I know Colorado, and the nails rimming the coffin are a good example for us to follow closely. We should check it out before jumping into that bed, completely.

Re: “We Have a Ton of Tickets to the Pima County Fair

The answer is simple: Baby Bash probably needs money. :-)
Here's his recent (and irregular) concert schedule: http://www.bandsintown.com/BabyBash/past_e…

Just wait for Petey Pablo's forthcoming tour in 2018!

Re: “Fight for $15 Protest: Is It Really That Painful to Give Workers a Livable Wage?

I don't see 100 people, I don't see minimum wage types in the crowd(don't ask me what they look like, you know what I mean) and by the way, does anyone at TW make $15/hr?? Also, don't these same people ever get tired of "protesting"? but then again, I guess it's a "cool" thing to do nowadays. Scenario: "Megan, instead of going to yoga today, let's go to the protest at the UofA, afterwards we can have lunch at the organic Mongolian,Swedish, New Guinea fusion food truck on 4th ave. After that we will self medicate with some of this awesome "purple pingasso" weed I got at the dispensary!"

Re: “Where's the Best Ice Cream in Tucson?

Well... it's not really ice cream, but the gelato at Frost is divine!

Allegro Gelato!

Owned and operated by a couple Italian men that speak broken English. That make it the old artisan way with all natural ingredients.

Re: “Danehy

I thought it was 'says' not sez. But I'm the dumb one. And how the Hell do you use drinking? I always thought it was drugs that one uses, but as I said I'm the dumb one.

So tell me Mr. Gorilla, what did I say that was so stupid? 19 million without jobs is a fact. Grown men in public office really hate kids. Get real. Then again you probably believe it like the dummy that you are. I annoy you to no end, don't I? If I'm that stupid, just ignore me. But that ain't happening and I love it.

Re: “The Skinny

What kind of bond proposal is that? It's like a slush fund for every government department in Tucson. I think one more narrowly focused on roads would have a better chance.
Not going to vote for it.

Re: “Danehy

CW13 sez.."Have you any idea how stupid you sound? For someone who claims not to drink and supposedly hates drugs, you do make me wonder."

Well, your comments leave no doubt about you using drinking and being stupid.

Re: “Tucson Bike Share Program Getting Closer to Launching

It would make sense to use the same equipment as Phoenix... think about the value in a membership that works in both city's !

Re: “Diane Douglas is Establishing a Committee to Review & Kill Unnecessary Regulations in Arizona's Education Code

It’s called K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupide. We need to go back to the old days when schools taught Reading, writing and Rhythmetic along with History, English and Science. Kids nowadays don’t know history or how to spell (thanks to texting) and are graduating? All schools are teaching now are MAS or Mexican-American Studies, most school kids can’t wright a simple two line sentence without bad grammar and spelling. And the worst part is the dammed parents that want to do away with testing because it might hurt their son/daughters feelings by getting an answer wrong.

Re: “Fight for $15 Protest: Is It Really That Painful to Give Workers a Livable Wage?

There are entry-level jobs and there are jobs for experienced, educated workers. The purpose of an entry-level job is to give students or young individuals the chance to learn, grow and mature. Once they have learned what the world of work requires and obtain the necessary education it is natural to move up. There is no need to pay more for those who are doing entry level work just because they do not have the ambition to get an education or experience to improve themselves.

Re: “420

But is Puchi-Saavedra for or against personal cultivation in 2016?

Home brewing didn't put the breweries out of business.

!Demand No legalization w/o personal cultivation and protections for medical patients! This is bloody America. Laws written by big biz to push the citizens around are better suited to Europe.

Re: “Breaking Borders

Tére Fowler Chapman is an immensely talented individual.

But please fix the headline "Tucson Poetry Festival and it’s new director work to change the status quo and celebrate poetry."

It should read "its new director."

Re: “Diane Douglas is Establishing a Committee to Review & Kill Unnecessary Regulations in Arizona's Education Code

This is a good idea, at least in concept. Stuff has been accumulating in Title 15 for literally a hundred years, and it is a mess. I do not see the point of an annual committee however. One thorough cleanup should be sufficient.
