Regarding review from 04/09/2014 on Living History Days, "No mention of the Apaches?" 1) Talk to docents and any of the historical interpreters, look at posted info and books in the shop; 2) Yes, the Tucson Weekly staff could post a bit more; 3) Other mention and historical interpretation depend on having more volunteers do more work-- we are full up and many cover other sites and events as well--but could use more people; perhaps some descendants of "Manzo" Apache might serve--or others with serious interest--let us know.
Lovely people, lovely food.Jordanian dish with pine nuts is so good.
STEER CLEAR!!!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would!! I was told we were in network and copay was $50......they charged us $350!!! For a 3 minute visit that did not even solve the reason for the visit. This place is a scam!! Nurses were rude, doctor was worthless!!!!
Didn't expect to write a review but I did not want the above post to be the last, since he was mistaken about it being closed.
My wife and I enjoy a pizza and beer most Friday's before going into the adjacent movie theatre. The service, pizza and beer are always very good. Pizza is delicious, with much of the ingredients made on site. The glasses are chilled (as they should always be) and the draft choices should serve everyone's taste (although I can never get enough dark lager choices anywhere). The service is fast, perfect and always very personal. I would give a shout-out to the server by name, but I don't like doing that if I have not asked the individual first. She always remembers us, and what we like, even though we are never there more than once a week for one beer and a pizza.
Fantastic gem of a store that just makes you smile!
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service at this little cafe. Rather crowded - apparently the multitudes have found the place, but certainly one of the best food places I've run into in Tucson. Wait staff is knowledgeable and helpful, adding to the overall positive impression. Only possible negative is that in one section of the restaurant, you are in essence in a tent!
My spc needs son & I were just there tonight. It was EXCELENT. THEY A NEW STAFF & cooks. The head c
So they did reopen?! Wonderful
Should be Best of Tucson consistent winner for all the special selections hand-picked for her customers. Learn a little about wines at the tastings or ask her questions when you shop - she has all the answers - really knows her wines! AND is super nice too! A pleasure to shop here and the quality of the selections is guaranteed to be a good place to get gift-wines without wondering if you did OK!
I hated this place so much I never went back.
I had to run some errands and, as it happened, got to the theater 20 minutes early. Not knowing better I went inside expecting to spend a few minutes in quiet contemplation. Unbelievably, full-screen TV commercials were screaming at the audience. I walked the halls to avoid hearing loss until the movie was ready to start and then sat through 15 minutes of previews. When the movie finally started the sound volume was about as loud as I could stand and the sound coming from the next theater was loud enough to follow the story there, too.
My husband and I have been watching Kitchen Nightmares recently and I felt it was our responsibility to let the public know about this place.
He worked there for a few weeks a couple years ago. He quit because he said the place was filthy. He previously worked at Olive Garden for 3 years which has is immaculate I might add. He ended going back to Olive Garden.
When they were showing him around they went inside the walkin in cooler. On the floor was a bin...like a Sterilite bin. Inside this bin was their main sauce that they use. It was not covered at all, just sitting on the floor open to let stuff fly in it. They told him to step over so they could show him stuff. He lost balance while doing so (those things are pretty large) and his foot went in the sauce. He immediately apologized and they were like "Don't worry about it" and continued to use it. His nasty dirty shoe WENT IN THE SAUCE and they STILL USED IT!!!! EW. He also said the kitchen was disgusting. He actually took it upon himself and tried to clean it.
He and the other line cooks would smoke in the walk in cooler. The managers/owners did know about this because he said one time they walked in when they were smoking. The guy was like "Hurry up" He also said they would sometimes join.
Before I even met my husband and knew about this place, many of my friends had gotten food poisoning from this place as well.
I beg of you, please please do not go to this restaurant. I've never eaten there myself and now I never will.
I have been a regular patron of Margarita Bay for almost 10 years. First and foremost, this is one of the best, if not the best location in Tucson to sign karaoke. Karaoke is available every evening, and each of the KJs (there are 3 spread across each week) knows what they are doing, and is very consistent in maintaining the "rotation" of singers, including judiciously mixing in new arrivals throughout the evening. If you have come to sing, you will get your chance. Depending on the night and the number of karaoke singers before you (and note that if you are a new arrival you do get inserted to the rotation immediately after the most immediately prior arrivals have had their first opportunity) you will get to sing as soon as is possible. Bar offers a wide variety of beverage from a good mix of draft and bottled bear, to other liquors and mixed drinks to a selection of better wines by the glass or bottle. Bartenders are expert at their craft, and without exception know how to maintain a crowd. With all of the above considered, consistently my favorite feature is the the wide mix and background of the crowd. Without exception, when you walk into the "Bay" you leave the outside world behind, and are there to enjoy an evening with a great collection of friends and acquaintences who are there for the same reason you are, to have a great evening, and for many to sing a song or two. I am a great fan of the Bay and expect to be for many years to come.
Due to construction on Stone Ave., Drachman Street is the easiest way to enter the parking lot.
Last time I was there, I specifically asked for "no ******" because I am allergic. My food comes, half covered in something that can literally kill me. When I explained this to the server, she took it back to the kitchen and returned within 2 minutes with the same order, with the portion that was covered in ****** now covered in sour cream. The server explained that the kitchen staff refused to make another one and that I should just eat it. My parents, wife, and 2 daughters were with me and the lunch bill was over $100. Their lack of caring, and willingness to get sued is very disconcerting. I'm just glad that I noticed that they covered what I am allergic to before I took a bite...
Yahoo it's up! Can't wait to draw the next series.
An awesome place to test your thinking skills! Definitely worth a try!
