Re: “A Heart Full of Love

Anne Hathaway's one-take performance of whatever-the-fuck-the-song's-called is most likely the coolest thing in this 'film', however, the rest of this is just sappy, manipulative bullshit.
Anyone (including Bob Grimm) wanna feedback to me?

Re: “Lackluster Spaghetti

It's perplexing to me how Jamie Foxx continues to get jobs despite his defense of Michael Vick's dogfighting operation.

Re: “A Heart Full of Love

Saw it in LA in a theater with a very good sound was GREAT. I love all types of movies, including action, but this musical is a must see. It will make you wish for more films like this.

Re: “A Heart Full of Love

Can't wait to see it. Loved the play, and based on your review, I will love the movie.

... so what you're saying is, you liked it.

Re: “Deliberately Delightful

A last minute change of strategy by the studio. Was supposed to be a wide release and they simply changed their minds at the last minute. It's going to expand a bit as the weeks pass. Just know that Colin and I both love this movie, and you should see it when the studio decides to let us have's really good.

TucsonFlickFan: When we schedule reviews, we are depending on the reliability of the schedules given to us by the promoters and studios. In this case, the film promoter insisted as late as 5 p.m. on Tuesday that the film was opening here. For some reason, it did not.

Re: “Deliberately Delightful

Don't know why this film was reviewed this's not being shown anyplace in town.
Some listings say that "Silver Linings Playbook" is at Foothills Mall Cinema...but after going there, i found out it wasn't showing there, either.
So, why review it, if no one can see it yet? Kinda messed up, right?

Re: “Bond Is a Badass

The reviewer misses that Daniel Craig is incredibly buff. It is absolutely mandatory that he take off his shirt more than once and this promise definitely attracts female audience. In his first Bond film there a sequence when he was naked, sitting on a chair (and being whipped - not pleasant). He is really physically beautiful, not muscle bound, just very buff. Naomi Harris IS very memorable -- winsome and also believably physically strong and decisive -- not in the tradition of Bond-girls-who-will-be-dead-by-the-end-of-the-film. Ralph Fiennes is good in a small part which obviously will be much larger in the next Bond film. Mendes et al are looking to the future!

Re: “Lofty Visions

Way to go Loft! Loved seeing that patio extended this past weekend. If anyone can do it Peggy can. Good looking woman too...hubba hubba.

Re: “Magnificent Mess

I agree completely with this review. What Colin did not say is how bloody and violent the movie is. I would not have gone had I know the scope of the gore. Otherwise, it is a decent movie, but a waste of a very good concept for a potentially great movie.

Re: “Twisted Cinema

I saw a preview for this movie last night at the Loft Cinema. It definitely looks interesting with echoes of movies like "No Country for Old Men" and "Red Rock West", both replete with some iconic "bad guys" (Javier Bardem and Dennis Hopper).

Re: “Now Showing at Home

It was refreshing to read something by another fan of "Get A Life". Who couldn't like the Spewy episode?

Re: “Beasts of the Southern Wild

I was SO amazed by this film, and I'm hardcore about quality cinema! You MUST see this on the big screen while you can!

Re: “Good Junk

Morris Moss(Ayoade) is hysterical in the IT crowd and other things I've seen him in. Far funnier than the others mentioned in the review.

Re: “Performance Art on Drugs

Agree on all counts. Holy Mountain is the best. And, yes, Matthew Barney owes much to Jodorowsky.

Re: “A Somber Gotham

As someone who feels nostalgia for the days when movie actors were miked, Bain's voice seemed fine to me, and suitably creepy. That seems an odd nit to pick, in a movie where realism is hardly the point. It's a comic book!

Re: “Now Showing at Home

I really enjoyed the first three American Pie movies and I was pretty excited to see that a reunion movie with the original cast was made. I’ve been reading mixed reviews about the movie but they are a part of my teenage years and I couldn’t help wanting to see this one as well. At the kiosk by my house the movie wasn’t available but a Dish co-worker suggested trying out Blockbuster @ Home. It brings the movies right to my door or I can stream directly to my Hopper. I got the movie about a week a go and I really enjoyed it. There are thousands of other movies I can get delivered by mail so no more hunting them down. This movie reminds people in my age group of one thing – we aren’t as young as we used to be and that’s ok. That’s what a reunion is for anyway: to remind us of times past.

Cody: Astute noticing skills, but that's actually a typo that didn't appear in the print edition, but made it online somehow. Colin is not at fault, but it's nice to know that people other than my ten year old and his friends are still saying "fail".
