The person applying for the liquor license has not had one in the State of Arizona for over 10 years. He was only barred for 5 so there is not one town in the whole state of Arizona that would be able to deny him a license, based on his past. Furthermore, the town of Marana has NOT denied him a license. The 'club' you are speaking of was in business for over 20 years. Were you concerned when Cactus Moon was there? Or are you just concerned because of the rumors surrounding the new applicant? A little research on your end could be helpful in this situation. Do you actually believe that a shooting is going to occur just because someone owned a nightclub where one occurred over 12 years ago?

We did visit for high tea when they opened and it was very nice. The staff were overwhelmed so I would think by now they would hire more people. My only complaint was that I saw the cook open a package of lettuce and chop it for a salad without washing it first.

My kids go to the St. Joseph school right next to where this club is going to be and I don't like it at all. I don't know the company going in there, but from what I've heard even Marana won't let him run a bar there. Don't we have enough shootings already???

Used to go once a month or so.
Tried the new layout and food and wasn't pleased.
Don't plan on going back.
Lots of other good places like Downtown Kitchen and Cocktails.

It's worth noting that, at least when I was there, they took $2.00 off of the order price to offset the ATM fee. The food is really, really good.

I have been to here many a time and the food is too die for!!!
They gave fantastic customer service and a very friendly atmosphere-
This is the only Mediterranean that I enjoy in Tucson-

Cash only keeps costs down. Many East Coast Mom and Pops have this policy. Some have ATMs in the restaurants.

I'm glad to see them review an upscale restaurant for a change. Usually it's yet another Mexican joint or student hangout.

Tucdan: You'd be surprised. There are plenty of terrible restaurants serving dishes at those prices. Plus, you never head somewhere nice for a meal?

I love it when reviewers rave about restaurants that they eat at because someone else is paying the bill. Give us a break! Almost any restaurant would be good at the prices you quote for this place. It's not a place that the average Tucson Weekly reader can afford.

Tried it, will not be back. Very average food at above average prices. Fox is clearly going for a younger, bar oriented crowd and higher profits. Good dining options in Tucson are decreasing as more and more restaurants offer overpriced and mediocre food.

First, I have not eaten at the new North, but I find the stock tanks out in front of the restaurant off putting, especially when the restaurant is in the only up scale locale in town. The imagery is terrible. It is very possible to do a Tuscan farmhouse image that is sophisticated and elegant, but visually this place looks like desert southwest meets Italy.

Speaking of recent closings, Mad Mario's Italian Deli near the U of A has closed too.

Tucson is very much a restaurant town. It all depends on what you like. For those Midwesterners you might like Amelia Grey's cafe on Campbell Avenue. Pastiche, also on Campbell, seems to attract a Midwestern crowd.
For bigschick, I don't know what to say. Try eating downtown. The choices there are many and varied.
