Mama Louisa's has a great menu and food quality is awesome. Their free speech should not be hindered because of one person's bias. Live and let live. I thought we had gotten pasta this. It is bolognese.
Support the local restaurants! They are your neighbors.
Me and my family have been going to mama's for years. It's nice to see Michael cater to both the long time guest and the new generation of food eaters that we are starting to see. As for one previous comment, DMAFB brings in a ton of business not only for his restaurant, but the entire community of Tucson. If you feel that his political preference is a reason to not dine at one of Tucson's longest standing restaurants, then perhaps your money is best spent somewhere else that doesn't support the community. I for one will continue to support local business in this city, regardless of political preference. Keep doing what you do Michael Elefante!!
Just a reminder to those who care about these things...Elephante did advertising in support of Martha McSally. I for one don't do business with known republicans and Mama Louisa's won't see another penny from me. There are many other fine Italian restaurants to dine at in this town.
This place serves a great Italian meal and is one of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. They make their own pasta and all of the pasta dishes are excellent. The servers are friendly and efficient. The lunch operation has an all you can eat pasta bar and great soup and salad bar. While it is not a fancy place the it is a perfect spot for date night, graduation party, or just stop in and have some spaghetti. I go there regularly and have never been disappointed. The Elefante family has a very nice operation.
Thanks to the web team for adding the info sidebar back to the online article!
Personally, I really am loving the new format! If you want to base where you go on one persons opinion of one time and a few items, rather than the stories of the amazing people and places, you need to hustle on over to Yelp and hang out with the rest of the internet trolls! Congrats Weekly, on the great new writter!
Correct. I just write the stuff.
If, unfortunately, the online version won't contain info the print version does, could you in the future just repeat the basic address-phone-intrawebs stuff in the article text? A little little redundancy wouldn't hurt hurt.
As the author, the address and info is in the print edition. Also, there is Google.
It sure would be nice to see a resumption of real restaurant reviews. These feature fluff pieces are no substitute.
"...most customers embrace since they know where to permanently find him now." God forbid the author of the piece tell the readers where this permanent place is. Thanks to Firsttimecaller for completing the article.

There, TW, that wasn't so hard now was it?
Hasn't this city reached peak brewery yet? Why do you keep using the "Chow" section to promote booze merchants?
Perhaps they added it, but it is in the third paragraph from the bottom. This feature used to have a side-box with all the essentials about the place - address, phone, open hours, a list of plusses and minusses. Wish they would put that back.
Do you think that putting the address of this place in the article might be a good idea?
"The next feast is tentatively set for Jan. 28, 2017, so you need to call them now to see if you can in because seats go fast."
What's the phone number? Mark Whittaker, why make it so tough for your readers?
Also, "tentatively set"? This event may or may not happen? Oh Tucson Weekly, you lovely, lazy listings paper.
Thanks a lot, Mark. Clicking that link just opened this exact same page in a separate window.
Adam, what happened to this place opening in November? Let us know when this place opens and how the food is.
Eat there all the time and can tell you It's not south of Kino, it's west.
It is worth a two day search for Romas. You will love it!
