I have eaten at Karuna's for at least fifteen years and love it dearly. I generally do the lunch buffet where the selection is limited (veggie and meat sides) but the food is excellent. And, quality and range of selection at dinners is much better than lunch buffet and prices are always reasonable, especially on the duck! The dining room is dingy and cramped, but it is great Thai food at a great price. Worth the inconvenience.
For those who Knew Him (Mukhjeev Singh) or heard about him, its very sad to announce that he passed away yesterday 21 Aug 2015, I am just mentioning this here as I got to see this message board, He was a batch mate in School "Modern School" in New Delhi - India - Batch of '81. We just heard the news today!
May his soul Rest in Peace .....
Other comment get it right! More landfill over 20 precious minutes! Boo-hoo. Also there is no mention of the lunch buffet which is a great deal and doesn't pose the waiting/service issues that the writer complains of. I feel bad for slighted Karuna's.
Advocating take-out in our waste-oriented society is very short sighted. More garbage in our landfills to save a 20 minute wait? Wow.
Don't forget Thunder Canyon Brewery.
I have lunch at NOOK at least once a week and have had a weekend brunch party that was very successful. I've not experienced the poor service that is described in this article rather enjoy the efficiency the waiters show as they hustle through the busy hour of the day. I've had business lunches at NOOK and have always appreciated the servers discretion and awareness of opportune times to offer refills. I don't know the girls name but she, Jack and Logan are some of my favorite servers downtown. I wonder if the kitchen was backed up during the writers visits or they were short staffed as that could be the cause of this otherwise unusual experience? You'll find me in the back corner booth enjoying NOOK.
Wow, not at all my experience. Nook is 3 for 3 with me. Love the young, happy staff and the food is spectacular. We will be back!!!!
I have eaten there and find the food, the owners AND the service wonderful. The food comes out when its ready and prepared properly. Maybe we should stop nit picking and concentrate on the positive. We had servers all around us taking care of customers. Highly recommend Nook.
Sounds absolutely dreadful. Why subject yourself to such an experience. Another good reason to eat at home where I get good food properly served.
Pascos is the best!
The Hermanos burger looks really terrible.
Gardening is a great experience for all ages. My favorite plant to grow is the TickleMe Plant. I love how the leaves fold together like magic when you Tickle it! Everyone will want to grow a TickleMe Plant.
You can find the kits online
Heather, next time you go, enter via the hotel/resort and avoid the casino craziness.
That lamb shank looks perfect!
I LOVE Babylon! It's my go to spot when I need any Middle Eastern ingredient and often provides a delicious pick-up-on-the-way-home dinner for this family.
After you try this place try Zayna's on Speedway east of Alvernon. Then let us know the winner.
Seriously. I wish you drove around my hood like the ice cream man. I'd have Bam Bam for every meal...
That photo looks delicious. Bring the truck by my place around 5.
I wish this place well, but that simple ground beef green chile at El Taco was a phenomenon.
