They closed down a restaurant where we could take our whole family out for a very decent price, and opened a place way to expensive for families to afford. We haven't been, and probably never will. We either go down to Green Valley or up to Tucson to eat out.
And Not a Rancho Snob, you are actually incorrect. Manuels is not in Sahuarita, it is in Green Valley. There are no other full service restaurants in Sahuarita. They are all in Green Valley.
The service in Relish and the menu have been revamped, a few things have been added and lunch is now full service. Happy hour has been changed as well. The quality of food is much better and the service has improved since opening. I would suggest to the author of this review to revisit Relish Kitchen and Wine Bar
that being said . the fries need to be up to par.
If you have been to Greece lately, you would know that they put fries in all their pita sandwiches. This is the first place that I have actually seen do this here in the states and I think it is GREAT! All my years here and I would buy fries seperately and put them in. Good job, Greek House! Finally, a Greek spot that keeps up with the times!:)
Did they really put French fries inside the gyro sandwich? Horrors!
This is a bit misleading, there are several restaurants in Sahuarita that serves both food AND alcoholic beverages. They were around before El Charro and they will still be around when Pub 1922 closes. Plus the food and atmosphere at Manuels is much more comfortable in my opinion.
totally CJ, people don't understand how hard it is to get restaurants, bars, bookstores whatever to respond. Writing a column weekly is hard work.
Why, thank you Mr. Morgan. I personally think you did a great job, it is definitely harder than one would expect.
Adam was my inspiration for trying my hand at this as well. As I can attest he is a hard act to follow but there is no reason not to give C.J. a fair chance. Seems He is doing better than I did.
Haha.. Adam was my favorite too. I used to e-mail him with a must have list when I wanted to go out to dinner, and he would fire back 3-4 spot on recommendations every time, regardless of the stipulations presented.
I totally agree. For me personally, I would much rather have an Applebee's. We have only gone twice and probably won't go back as the service is really slow. We sat at the bar to order our food and the Bartender was so busy talking with people it took us 20 minutes to get served. The food was so-so and to us, it isn't worth the price.
well that explains that reta!
adam hasn't lived in Tucson for ages.
boring! bring back adam!
I don't patronize the Flores' establishments - they are way overrated.
The curried goat is superb.
They do have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Zemams?id=1515869…
I have been to both Zemans and I heartily concur with the review. The food is excellent.
We stumbled upon this place. Although it can be a bit hard to find, the food is cooked fresh and the prices are super reasonable. Besides an extensive menu, they also have a $5 section. Our family of 4 usually orders about four items (each comes with rice) and it's a great feast for just about $20. Great customer service and each time I go I wonder why more people aren't there.
Coming from a Slovack/Russian backround, I was eager to see if the very positive review by the Tucson Weekly (Rita), was accurate - it was! Even though it was almost 40 miles from my house, I thoroughly enjoyed my Russian High Tea & it was worth the $15 that they charge. To justify my time & fuel consumption, I also ordered lamb dumplings ($11/lunch) & the appetizer sampler (for 2 as it was two pcs each for $13 vs one pc each for $9) to GO, My server was "Vladimir" (Carlos, from El Salvador) - polite & helpful. There was a language barrier w/the owner's mother, but Chef Natasha was delightful & possibly spoke better English than I do!
