That voiceover is Dr. John
Great post! But I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that the Rodriguez show was on April 19th.
Thanks for the love Dan! Hope to see you there! -R Dub
Didn't destroy anything for me! KXCI, Calexico, Sergio & the guys... In the Barrio by the Tucson Museum of Art!! Take those phony casino concerts and toss your money to the wind... Local music and art and radio and people will be here and support you... the other guys won't.
A taste http://youtu.be/PmC0XiwBG3E
Nobunny really, really does love you.
funny now but marshall tucker and still's were thretened much like the 99% of the music industry.West vs. East/u.s. vs.u.k./it was when rock and roll was such a $$ industry
that [like most things>even beyond alien films] it felt strong need to protect itself.
Now one has to live or die on "MERCH" and me ,at least i understood what was what.It will allways be in the gold busting ,crop dusting Petticoat Junction's where Uncle Joe is the warden to a young man's game.
He loses the deed in the 1st season.
So Mr. Mendez, when am I going to get my payment for acting as an assistant editor? The title should read: "For Your Consideration: Whole Lotta Helter Skelter, a Beatles/Led Zeppelin Mashup." At least you kept it British. Cheers mate.
Wow! And they do it all without that unnecessary third guitarist too. It would be cool if they also did material from Bruce's solo albums from the '90s, for these songs were far more original & innovative than anything Maiden has recorded since their "Powerslave" LP.
Post script: More cowbell!
Shouldn't the title of this article be "The Original Iron Maiden" or "The First Iron Maiden?"
This material is fresher and more original than anything I've heard from the well known Iron Maiden since their "Powerslave" days.
Does this mean we have to refer to Steve Harris & company as The New Iron Maiden from here on out? I'm sure they would love that! I checked out a couple of the other tunes also and thought they were cool. Thanks for the music history lesson Mr. Werner!
i have heard the album and i am very surprised how well balanced it is. very solid for a freshman effort! should be a great show as well. keep up on all tucson hip hop at www.wearebugginout.com
What's a "spare beat"?
Heard these guys in LA and also Santa Barbara, and fell in love.
Pristine harmonies, truly inspired playing across the board, and songs that break the mold creatively.
And well, lets call it, all those handsome Ronstadts.
Come back to So Cal, RG!!!
He is merely exercising the age old adage "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." And since when has anything the weakly does ever been confused as legitimate journalism. That being said his aversion of Ms. Savage is completely warranted.
Since when should reporting an event be colored by a writer's likes or dislikes? Very poor journalism.
Maybe the writer didn't LIKE Lee Anne Savage and didn't want to waste valuable column space.
This is absolutely my favorite band in the world. Truly. They are Tucson; they feel like home.
Brandon: It worked for me just now. Maybe try a different browser?
Site no longer works, boooooo!
Great summary! I would like to add that the LeAnne Savage band rocked it too!! Loving our music scene here lately.
