Re: “Carly Rae Jepsen Joins Train in Leaving National Scout Jamboree

As a post script, Carly Rae has been invited instead to perform for the Canadian Scouts - who, like most other civilized nations, do not discriminate:

Re: “Carly Rae Jepsen Joins Train in Leaving National Scout Jamboree

I am grateful to Carly Rae, Train, and others for standing up to discrimination. It is through such actions that change happens. I hope and expect that BSA will make the right decision in May and end the ban. If not they risk continuing their trajectory towards becoming the Boy Scouts of Conservative Christians rather than the Boy Scouts of America, of all America.
Once the ban is lifted it will be a total non-issue and the fears of the right-wing will not materialize at all, just as happened with the military.

Re: “R.I.P., Jesus Acedo

The first time I ever heard Black Sun Ensemble's music was just over 20 years ago and it stopped me in my tracks. The unique and bizarre mixture of Middle Eastern and hard rock influences were impossible for me to ignore. I was ten times as surprised to find out music this phenomenal was the product of a home town visionary. Local genius!
My condolences not only go out to his friends & family but also to the local music scene for losing a true original. A spirit like his will not die, it will simply transcend from the material world. I can picture a super group in the great beyond that includes him jammin' along with Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Cliff Burton, Bon Scott, John Bonham and/or Keith Moon.

Re: “R.I.P., Jesus Acedo

I will miss, Jodie Cosmo, Loki Wolfey, Funny Bunny, The Seven Headed Dragon of ?, Apollo the Destroyer, and the rest... Maybe not The Shiek so much. More than anything I will miss Jesus. He used to talk about wanting to see heaven.

Re: “Soundbites

Can you guys re-format the Bandwagon section so it's easier to read? Either chronological or at least performers on the left and venue on the right? it's one of the most useful sections of the whole website IMO, deserves better presentation Thank you!

Re: “Attractive Nuisance #3: Lou Reed

Lou Reed was dealt a pretty good hand: intellect, dexterity, a fine ear for composition…but it was his passion for the game that defined him. Bluffing and posturing behind those aviator-shades, taking wild risks and talking shit to all challengers. He learned from his mentor Warhol that “cool” was the cultural equivalent of a poker-face; inscrutable to and suggesting only contempt for squares. That he fronted a transcendent collective at art-flux ground zero didn’t hurt, and when he cashed out he kept that pile of chips in front of him…
“New York” struck me as the album where Lou Reed finally laid his cards on the table. And yeah he was dealt a pretty good hand, but the “game” felt over.

Re: “Mondo Morricone: Spaghetti Western Triple Feature at The Loft Feb. 2

I dig your show Dewtron. A lot of it is stuff I would never purchase or listen to on my own, but it's far more interesting than the standard fare being offered on most other terrestrial radio. I listen to KXCI Tuesday through Saturday morning and I do enjoy most of the programs, but your show & Julio Pena's fill a void that other predictably stale Tucson radio cannot. Keep up the good work and keep things interesting by digging up more of those oddities & obscurities. Regards, DC
