Re: “Ed Superintendent Douglas Talking in Tucson Tuesday, Wednesday

How are they "saving lots of education money" when we are paying them with tax credits and other state money? They're not saving us anything and they're failing to educate and socialize children well.

Remove a few layers of administration from the public schools, pay teachers well enough to attract and retain more talented people, maybe even make school year-round (shown to very effective), provide up-to-date technology and materials to every school, and feed the children who come to school hungry (I think it's 25% here). Then, watch the students shine!
(fyi, I have no kids in schools here; I just think all kids, everyone's kids, should have a good education and enough to eat)

Re: “Not Your Mama's Safety Pin: How a Household Item Can Change a Life

I like this idea.

And I also like that this post has been up for 6 hours and none of the usual negative commenters have said anything. Lovely to just have a positive statement of support for community members and an affirmation of what Tucson can be: welcoming, loving, compassionate, celebrating diversity, caring for each other, and being safe for all. I'm putting a safety pin on my shirt right now.

Great beginning, Adiba.

Re: “Local Media Pros Som and Krystin Lisaius Indicted on Drug-Related Child Abuse Charges

Nice rack. We'll have to take that into account.

Can someone explain how these alleged drugs were in the kids system allegedly put their by the kids parents?

The Range Rocks. The paper would never get this much response.

Re: “MMJ Notes

The rich just get richer. Good work if you can get it. Read up on these rich bad asses that paid off whomever was necessary and stepped all over the competition with even more cash to get that dispensary permit so they could rake in tax free cash. So much for taxes toward "education".

Re: “Police Dispatch

IF, the Cop documented the intersection in that way, it's grounds for the ticket to be dismissed. No mention of alcohol but the kid did the right thing by saying nothing and I recommend you do the same. They only ask the question for self incrimination.

Always, and I mean always, roll down your windows the second you see those blue lights. They count on that big whiff when they approach and you wait to roll down the window causing the difference of pressure to blast them with "evidence" right up the nose. "No sir officer, I don't think you could mistake the smell of alcohol with my cologne so I won't be moving or answering any other questions without a lawyer present." *crickets*

Mari, can you please straighten out your possible oversights on this one and the "San" typo. Is there a difference between the print and electronic version?

Re: “From Service to Homeless

Problem1: everyone expects the Iraq/Afghan vets as being shell shocked in some manner mostly because of the small percentage who returned, found no suitable work or were too lazy too, and turned to substance abuse.

Problem 2: PTSD is an unprovable syndrome used to cop a marijuana "subscriptions'' casting suspicion on the syndrome.

Problem 3: employers think they will be under performers, volatile performers, a drag on their insurance costs, or bad actors from a bad war.

Hello again CW!

I couldn't just give up and not give you all the information you so righteously deserve. Here's the album/HBO special where that quote is from:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_in_To…

Another bonus! The extended version of the YouTube link I posted above, which is the end of the Back in Town performance:

https://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=xIraCchPDh…

I would've included all this in my last post, but I got impatient; then I decided that I had to at least figure it out for myself or I would become more bonkers than I already am. Now ya got enough Carlin to keep you busy for a long time. I'll leave you alone now. I promise. DC

You're going to want to click to enlarge on that pic. Then right click, save image as, and take the journey northward when you get the chance.

Re: “The Skinny

What about disclose of that middle school texting one another in class (and I'm only assuming they are texting "one another")? Disclose it or put your phone away. It's especially childish when they do it while citizens are speaking. If it's a county paid for phone we are entitled. I'm quite sure it's not Huck ordering pork chops or Ray tallying his graft for retirement.

Re: “"Raise Taxes on Corporations and the Wealthy." Hillary said It. Arizona Democrats, You Can Say It Too.

Perhaps this was the very subject Bill Clinton and Lynch were discussing during their coincidental encounter at Sky Harbor airport. Oh ! I'm sure it had nothing to do with the ongoing investigation of Hilary's E-Mails or the possible corruption within the Clinton Foundation or perhaps the Benghazi incident that took the lives of four of our countrymen. Heck ! we don't believe one single word those Marines have to say about not engaging the enemy and what not. We love you Hilary and we know you would never lie to the American people.

You'll get more power out of the plug in models but I recommend the cordless for the shower. Saying the shower itself won't do the trick.

Re: “"Raise Taxes on Corporations and the Wealthy." Hillary said It. Arizona Democrats, You Can Say It Too.

Well that didn't take but three days. Loretta Lynch (AG) has blocked access to the Clinton Foundation emails for 27 months. Isn't that odd? This is loads more important than Watergate. It may actually have the Hillary emails that they have been hiding.

Our confidence in these liars is completely gone. Every day is a new fraud.

Hey 13!

1)Here:

http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/funnyqu…

*I included this link because there are other great ones here besides what I posted.

*And here:

http://thinkexist.com/quotation/i-don-t-vo…

https://m.facebook.com/GeorgeCarlinQuotes/…

*These are slightly different versions of the one I previously posted.

*This quote is also included on one of the albums/HBO specials from (I think) the early '90s, although I couldn't find it in my search. If you figure it out, please don't hesitate to leave a post here.

*But heck, why just read it when you can watch it:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jnf9GILjFM

B)Also, here's some bonus Carlin for ya, because you can NEVER have enough Carlin:
http://jamesaquilone.com/101-greatest-geor…

4)More bonus Carlin:
https://en.m.wikiquote.org/wiki/George_Car…

Okay, I'm finally through. Carlin was the master. He was one of those rare comedians that could do lowbrow and deep thought comedy almost perfectly. The only other comedian that could pull that off, IMHO, was Bill Hicks. It truly blows that neither of them are with us anymore. DC

Re: “"Raise Taxes on Corporations and the Wealthy." Hillary said It. Arizona Democrats, You Can Say It Too.

Debra,

Care to bet that Lynch will be named a Clinton Supreme Court nominee after she kills the FBI investigation into Hilary's email fiasco?

Read Clintons Cash. I thought it would be a Koch Bros hatchet job until I read the endorsement by the progressive economist and philanthropist Jeff Sachs. The film version will air on the eve of the Dem's national convention. Should be interesting.

Re: “From Service to Homeless

You had every opportunity to use them save money ,get training in a career ect..Now if you choose to ignore them what excuse do you have?
