Re: “TUSD Searches for an Internal Auditor & Volunteers for an Audit Committee

What good will it do if the committee has anything to say about this position. The board just destroyed this committee , and put Soto and Grijalva on it, even if the committee should choose someone that would do their job and not what the majority wants , with the board given final say that just means that the majority gets to choose who will do their bidding. I for one am fed-up with all the games . TUSD is doomed , and as much as I'd like to see it saved , that is impossible with the current leadership and board majority. There are so many cover-ups and scandals with these people it is sick. It is time that the public open their eyes and put an end to this. We need to take our district back , and get these people out and away from our children I am going to put this up again , read it , see what the district has been covering up https://www.change.org/p/tucson-unified-sc…

Re: “One Petition, Two Facebook Pages: Can Arizona Recall Doug Ducey?

I'm a native of this state and all I have seen is how people from other parts of the country want to come here and bring their ideologies and basically create a reality that just doesn't exist here in Arizona. The truth is that Arizona is a cultural melting pot that used to value education (and art and music for that matter). Take a look at where most of the Arizona republican legislation comes from (and dems if inclined) and you will find that most are transplants. I would like to see a law in place that requires a person to live here in Arizona a lot longer before they can run for a position in office. Heck, the state of Colorado wont hire you if your not a resident.

Re: “Court Hears Emergency Appeal to Temporary Block of Obama's Extended DACA, DAPA Programs

We are losing our sense of humanity.
Learn your history; USA was founded by immigrants for immigrants. We are talking about human lives, people that just like you want the best for their family. Nothing remotely funny...

Re: “The Fight to Save Oak Flat Comes to Tucson

Aboriginals in no territories ever had a religion that placed mountains as untouchable and profane. Science and spirituality were one and the same, they were both medicines and to be respected. In fact much of the medicines, food stuffs and astrology we had would be just as at home with our reincarnationist beliefs and female based ideas of government. (A plurality of tribes believed in women leaders.)

The idea that science and the profane are separated and that this mountain should be a place of power only to this tribe is to my American Indian mind, wrong. It's historically wrong. It's philosophically wrong and it creates a situation where we separate from the "white men" and demand our views to be respected but not advanced. It's a beautiful telescope and it can be worked into the mountain without disturbing it.

Our religions were never this harsh and unforgiving to change.

Re: “Diane Douglas is Establishing a Committee to Review & Kill Unnecessary Regulations in Arizona's Education Code

Looks like Clifford needs to go back to school so he can learn correct spelling and grammar. BTW MAS was banned a few years back. Try to keep up.

Re: “Hey, Diane Douglas Wants to Listen to Your State-of-Education Woes

I think she is really trying. My question is, how does she reconcile her seemingly honest desire to improve public education with Governor Ducey's apparent goal to destroy it? As long as he can only cut education funds, and send the existing funds available to education in so many different directions, I fear there won't be a lot she can do. I hope I am wrong.

Re: “420

There are strains such as "Chronic Thunder" which boast CBD levels at around seven percent while still maintaining a THC level of around twenty. I really think people should realize that you don't have to sacrifice one for the other.

Judging by some of these comments, we should start deporting some "natives."

A good start would be to not gut the funding for education at every opportunity. Also, to get the money that exists through the admin bottleneck to the teachers and classrooms.

Re: “The Fight to Save Oak Flat Comes to Tucson

among the 565+ Indian Nations there is no Indain Religion. there is a way of life 24/7 that honors all living and Mother Earth. it is insulting to refer to our way of life as "moony-eyed" or an " old tribal religion." sacred lands are places of power. get over your self.

Whatever the purpose of this land is to the indians, people should respect their land, it is already theirs and that should be enough.
