Even a rose bush can understand WHY Trump keeps going after politicians (both parties), celebrities, reporters, congress (both houses) and, sooner or later, other world leaders. It must really feel good. But there is something basically bad and even indefensible about constantly challenging the integrity of our entire legal system, threatening specific judges and intentionally prejudicing court cases long before actual decisions are made. It pushes the whole process behind police arrests and jury trials into a constitutional red zone, less access to justice for most of us and more abuse and disrespect by felons and crooks and anyone up for gaming the system.
Voter fraud convictions are popping up all over the country. Why couldn't Obama find them?
Just like there is no vote fraud:
I have seen him do it. And it was the same water that Obama walked on.
AS the left celebrates the 9th Circuit decision, be reminded that their decisions are overturned over 80% of the time. Is it a justice court or a political arm of the democratic party?
When you need a heart transplant pick a doctor with an 80% failure rate.
You're right. There are normal and abnormal patterns of response in these comment streams. There are also normal and abnormal patterns of like and dislike additions. When there are 7 likes or dislikes added to certain comments in less than a 20 hour period, especially on a dead thread, it can be deducted that something is rotten in the state of Denmark. You still haven't acknowledged that.
Congratulations Sherlock! You have wasted your time on bad leads. Go back to Baker Street and examine the evidence further. Make sure to talk to Watson because he is a valuable resource, especially at this point because the cocaine is ruining your brain.
It's also making you paranoid. That's what cocaine and being a major troll does.
Muslims are not Mexicans.
When I read (NYT with interviews/quotes) that rich California farmers who voted for Trump are losing their workers I have trouble matching politics with having food on the table: you cannot pay Americans enough to get out in those fields.
There is a need for vigilance, not threats and violence, implied or actual.
There is a need for steady leadership, not strange Twitter revenge rants threatening our legal system.
How long can anyone maintain this pace in what could be the most stressful job in the world??
When this president melts down, we could all be in for a very rough ride.
Nick Meyers; Has brought some very useful insight into the possibilities of of bill being passed by the legislature.
I would like to take exception to this part of the article
" The argument is reminiscent of the lawsuit against Prop 205, which claimed that the law wasn't adequately explained to voters so they wouldn't know what they were passing" .
This is so true on PROP 205. I didn't have a clue to the tentacle impact of the the proposed " DMLC" seemed to me to be a replacement vehicle to the County atty and Police slush/retirement fund. Outside state investors who won't disclose contributors. At every turn of prop was a "TO BE DETERMINED". Which means we dont know, you dont know ?>>>>>> Does it really mean that, or does it mean we dont want to say, it would damage the support ?
The real clincher to prop 205 failure was the Quazi board of citizens that really had no vote, but possible recipients of DMLC handouts as success of the program and the department.
If you are going to sell this kind of heep of. This is no different than Trumps Mexican Wall. We are going to stop the illegal stuff and they are going to pay for it. The society has been paying for it since 1971 and Nixon's now they see an end of the road.
What we paid for the citizens of America war on drugs. These two groups non sustainable behemoths. This is what prop 205 was supplier and enforcer as one feeding the behemoths that consume all in it's path. Cost to benefit was always has been and will be in the negative.
If they wanted a program MPP could've followed the other states legalization structure, of incorporating the other state agencies to a combined legalization agencies effort.> Not this stand alone (police, court, license, market selling & limiting, medical restricting, revenue collecting, interstate trade, governing department) for 8 years and then maybe it will negotiate with the legislature on powers of government. WHAT!!!~!!! This was prop 205 after reading it several times it was clear.
I loved this show so much I am taking my teaching assistant as a thank you for her help in my classroom
In other news, Kim Jong Un says he can boil water with his mind.
These huddled masses?
Being so pro pot-I am betting Nick's dog uses pot now too and most likely looks like a Gremlin when it gets wet in the movie. Probably has a name that would fit a prison. But i am slightly stereotyping maybe. God bless America.
I hope your brother survived Mr Meyers.
Every time I'm down town I hit Urban Fresh up. The service and food are amazing. Chauncey and his family are kind, cheerful, and welcoming. Best vegan restaurant in town!
Do yourself a favor and go in for their daily special and one of there housemade soups, you won't be disappointed!
Martha, Martha, Martha....
If you can't stand the heat....my advice is to get out of the kitchen. Being elected by taxpayers means one must answer to their concerns. It goes with the territory. Republicans are facing an angry bunch, with good reason. Own up to voting for strip mining, own up to not demanding Trump produce his tax returns. Own up to voting against any protection of the enviorment and any protection for women making choices over their own bodies. Martha needs to own up and face her constituents.
Joy for downtown
We have 330 million people. While we should certainly do what we can to help refugees, economic and political, admitting every poor or disadvantaged person in the world into the U.S. is not the solution to world problems. At current rates, we'll have 1 billion people by the end of the century. We don't have enough water even if we drink our toilet water.
There are normal and abnormal patterns of response in these comment streams. Usually, people keep commenting and liking and disliking posts for a few days and then the activity stops. Occasionally, someone like you takes offense to a line of argument and keeps returning to the stream and inflating the likes and dislikes in a systematic way. When there are still multiple commenters visiting the stream, the likes and dislikes fall sometimes here, sometimes there, and in different combinations. When you see patterns like what developed here and in the January comment stream on vouchers, you know there is a troll -- in this case you -- systematically distorting the responses.
You can protest as much as you like, but what happened here in both of these streams is I caught you at it, tricked you into responding in a way that would make clear to anyone who read the stream what you were doing, and outed you.
Please do keep playing your tricks. I have a very full life but it often involves wait time and I enjoy checking in on the streams on my mobile phone when I'm stuck in a holding pattern. This kind of detective work is amusing, especially when it involves the "outing" of trolls who have nothing to offer but backing up the ignorant PCDP party line with transparent manipulation of comment streams and mean-spirited, below the belt insults of other commenters.
In the unlikely event that anyone besides the two of us is reading this stream I will note that anyone can access the other exchange we had RE your comment stream behaviors through this link:
Many on the left don't put much stock in that book, Rat T, but there are a good number of us that do.
Even in the current ugly, "reactive" political scene, there are more on the left using non-confrontational, constructive means to forward our policy goals than there are people breaking windows and screaming obscenities. But you know the media: it will always be the bad behavior and the sensational story that garners the most coverage.
As for this comment stream: Safier promoted the aims of a group that is targeting McSally, and this post was no doubt forwarded to their entire extended network, hence the large # of dislikes on posts that don't jump on the "disparage McSally" bandwagon.
And the usual suspects are of course offering up their vacuous, mean-spirited insults. Too bad they don't just find another hobby. Seems to me they foster an inaccurate and negative image of what "liberals" believe and how they behave, damaging the very cause they seem to want to promote.
For the first incident -- you can't fix stupid, and for the second... well, pretty much the same thing, although it would be nice if they could suspend people's driver's licenses for road rage incidents.
Humpty Trumpty promised a wall
Humpty Trumpty repeated his call
But all of his lackeys and all his minions
Couldn't silence Liberty's calling again.
