Yes in another era Uncle Tom was the kind old slave the master loved, like but no more than his favorite pet hunting dog! For those who do not see my comments connections to the column, its feelings......we all have them on a variety of issues and many of us display them on line!:-) I still think James T. Harris of 104.1 FM is a black fellow trapped in a white fellows body and proof is his denigration of black folks as lazy, shiftless, worthless and entitlement addicts, my feelings are mine and 1st amendment allows me to express them and anyone who wishes me to stop might use control of their own mind and not read my comments!:-) Have a blessed day!:-)
And this has what to do with Mr. Gibson's column?
A small mind denigrates any black intellectual who writes, orates on conservative politics. I could fill this space with doctors philosphers university professors, until my dinner grows cold of black folks who craft sensible dialogue on our nation's future. And you, you make senseless drivel about it. Pathetic.
Mr. Danehy, my head swims with the directions you folks take on this immigration issue. Ok, 1070 is BAD, then, not so much, now, Neto calls this clown who got deported a 'good guy' ? I didn't read his column but from your inference, he's leading the charge that he shouldn't have been? Your conclusions about him being deported are in my judgement are correct. He's illegal (NOT undocumented - ILLEGAL!!) You're outta here. For reasons aptly stated by yourownself as Jeff Smith used to say. But, you confuse me ( and probably yourself with this whirligig. You're beginning to sound like Bob Bekel on "The Five." Things are getting so screwed up, old fashioned liberals like yourself are being shoved into the political center. What's his face needs a permanent one-way south. His kids? They are American, if they want...they stay here.
They say even a blind squirrel can find a nut now and then. I guess that's the case with Pulitzer Tommy this week. Good job Tommy ol' pal, except for the S.B. 1070 part. If you read it, it's just a mirror of the federal immigration law.
Great column, I felt the same way.
CW13: You're a funny guy.
It is not too often I disagree with you Tom but this time you messed up. I agree with the commenter 'Kentop" on this one.
And this has what to do with Tom's column ? Black buy ?
Has anyone wondered how Jon Justice and his shill Katie Pavolich came to be connected since her days in college and being a regular guest host on his local radio show here in Tucson 104.1 FM? I mean she goes from college straight to a high paying job with a Washington DC right wing blog, gets some guest spots on Fox and Friends on the Five, just the other day was with her pal mocking the low wages paid to fast food workers, funny two people who cannot even relate to low waged workers other than maybe being served by them when they dine out have the nerve to mock, joke and laugh at the minimum wage being a poverty wage! Katie Pavolich has some strange connections to John Birch society see link
So I am not surprised at her and Jon Justice being connected, they do say birds of a feather tend to flock together, now they have imported a black right winger into the show a black fellow trapped in a white mans body who constantly denigrates his own race on air! I guess this is needed to feed the right wing white supremacists who unfortunately inhabit many parts of America!
Ps...Jon Justice and his pal the black buy trapped in a white mans body showed up at the local Macdonald's on a rainy dreary day, allegedly as a counter protest, with some of his fans, made a big deal of the workers at the Macdonald's not joining the protest, guess he thought the owner would just give them a protest break if they did instead of a dismissal for leaving job assignment! Then today on his show he claims he shut down the protest and made them leave not due to the weather! Of course this joke for a right wing advocate cannot even get a right wing candidate elected to dog catcher in Tucson as is evident since everyone he campaigns for loses! Sadly this is a necessary media outlet for the sad sacks who live for hatred, racism, bigotry in every community, they need their right wing snake oil providers!
Was listening to Jon Justice 104.1 FM the other day in a communication he had with Katie Pavolich his shill he often used while she was in college now a editor for a right wing blog, and they were mocking the low wage workers who might wish for a raise in minimum wage, it was ironic Justice using a 25 year old who went straight from college to a high paying editor job, who has some questionable connections to John Birch society see
One might wonder how anyone can take this joke for a right wing radio shock jock seriously when he got run out of Michigan, fired for a drowned dog hoax, is his shill Pavolich just another version of tendency to use hoax's in form of a girl just out of college to denigrate the less fortunate in society?
There are plenty of eligible poster boys of the "latter category" awaiting deportation as you read this, but Jesus Ramon Gonzales was just an opportunity for Portillo to put in his two centavos in on the subject. I didn't feel that it was an article glorifying Gonzales. It was a warts and all article about illegal immigration, factually reported. Portillo is a good enough writer that if he did want to turn Gonzales into a hero, he would have left out or glossed over all those bad bits. Instead, you state that "by Portillo's own account...", he enumerates definitely unsympathetic facts about Gonzales. And yet you accuse Portillo of trying to gloss over the facts to make Gonzales a sympathetic character. You can't have it both ways, Tom.
Mr. Smith you continue to be the prohibitionists' best friend with your usage of their slang for cannabis -- pot and weed (and even marijuana). You are neck and neck with the major asswipe on this subject Howie Fischer of Arizona Capitol Times and stop being a flak for the dispensary industry. Call it cannabis or Mary Jane or the trees or the herb but "Pot" is the favorite word of the media when they are too goddamn lazy to use more than a 3 letter word. You have been the MMJ critic for an entire year and yet oddly you fail to cover the basic story in Tucson which is the police in direct contradiction of the intent of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and their reign of terror in using undercover cops and informants at the AZDHS to arrest, harass and generally try and crib death the MMJ program. Get your stoner arse out of your "pot haze" and start doing some real journalistic writing or else let someone else have your job.
Did the writer of this crap even grow up here in Tucson? Has he even lived here for more than a few weeks? Who in Tucson "pooh-poohs" those who attend Salpointe? As a lifelong Tucsonan, I can say that I do not know of anyone who would ever say that they look down on those who went to Salpointe. Salpointe grads are proud of their school are and are influential people in this city. No one would ever argue that point. Where is the writer getting the false impression that everyone in Tucson hates people affiliated with Salpointe? Perhaps he needs to check his facts.
Additionally, Salpointe is within the Amphitheater school district boundaries. Yet another fact that he got wrong. Doesn't matter. TUSD is run well. It is people like this writer who perpetuate the negative propaganda against the district that will never allow the public to truly see the positives that are happening within its schools.
I live in california. And this is very comfortable state when it comes to the weather. But not so comfortable when it comes to laws, traffic and taxation. I think legalization would be a very good investment for this state. The pros obviously would out way the cons in so many different aspects. History has proven that to us and other countries. but theres still money hungry media, religious beliefs pharmaceutical companies, federal government agencies and state government agencies that still claim it's demoralizing, sinful and harmful. Or are they just afraid of change?. Hemp, cannabis and medical cannabis is a plant given to mankind by mother nature to use as a tool for life. No matter how hard us humans try to contradict that. Will always find a way to use cannabis. So lets legalize, regulate and tax everyone that sees this.
So um, have you picked a winner yet?
I don't hate it. I love it. Makes me proud to be a right-winger. Besides, it was Tommy who decided to shut me out after we found a middle ground. Ask him why. Maybe he'll tell you. He ignores me. Why should you care what I read ? Do us all a favor and M.Y.O.B.
idea behind IRS doing this would implicate our spending money
CW13: What the hell are you talking about?
Follow-up question: Is there a better use of your time than reading a column every week that you hate?
