I don't hate it. I love it. Makes me proud to be a right-winger. Besides, it was Tommy who decided to shut me out after we found a middle ground. Ask him why. Maybe he'll tell you. He ignores me. Why should you care what I read ? Do us all a favor and M.Y.O.B.
CW13: What the hell are you talking about?
Follow-up question: Is there a better use of your time than reading a column every week that you hate?
This is hard to believe. With all the libs that read the Geekly, only 5 signed up for the Pulitzer Tommy fan club. Sounds like Obummer's crew set up the website !!
Classic ?? I know you're kidding. Pulitzer Tommy sucked then as he sucks today. He was an irrelevant stooge in 1999. The only thing that's changed is today he's a bigger stooge and even less irrelevant. Classic? Give me a break. I assume you had to dig into Tommy's archives because he's taking a little time off. Now, that's CLASSIC. The useless bum is on vacation 365 days a year. Maybe while he's off he'll start work on his next column. A 2 part blockbuster on girls basketball with a few jabs at the Tea Party thrown in. Maybe he'll find a little space to remind us that his kids went to charter school. What a sad, sad person.
P.S. Signed up yet, Tommy ?
Fourteen years after it's initial publication, this story is STILL right on the mark, Tom.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, but while on the way to or from wherever your holiday is celebrated, PULL YOUR HEAD OUT and pay attention to the roadway and everyone else using it.
Laughter through our tears.
Nice take-down. Thank you Mr. Danehey!
A new low for Pulitzer Tommy in the ho-hum,who really cares about this mindless blather department. I can't believe you actually got 2 other chumps other than me to respond. I'd love to see what would happen if you were put in a position where you had to go out and get a real job.
P.S. Signed up yet, Tommy ?
I like using the older PROVEN system from the Territorial days. You know, the system used back before computers, high tech tweeting, and tour buses. Play against your neighbors, those who come out on top THEN get to play the better teams from the rest of the state.
Alternatively, just dump out the Valley area schools, and let the state of Arizona have it's own champions. Maybe schedule a final round of teams from Arizona vs those in the great state of Maricopa.
Let me guess, the reason the AIA is using a system that actually hurts smaller, more rural teams is because there is money involved. Revenue from more popular teams who actually are better than the Podunk high gene pool makes more sense to the AIA than a more socialist everybody gets to play in the game philosophy. I hate to make this about capitalism but, money driving sports tends to monopolize it, making the best teams in the biggest markets perennial winners and smaller "markets" suffer. I wouldn't blame the system, though. I blame the money.
Your completely wrong about people being alone when LARGE TRUCKS USE TWO Spaces. And BTW, what you are doing to peoples vehicle's is vandalism (witch is illigal) if you are putting large items under the tires, chemicals on the body of the vehicle, littering the vehicles with your trash. If this ever happens to my vehicle I will be looking up you up "Tom Danehy". Were not breaking the law taking up two spaces.
Mr. Nivek, if you're unable to see or at least acknowledge the gargantuan corporatist streak in the GOP, which has utterly co-opted the Tea Party, your comment only serves to underscore the truth of what I said in my post above. Your partisan myopia is a hindrance, not a help; you would do well to stop viewing things in terms of conservative vs. liberal and focus instead on right vs. wrong.
When anyone reads the tease you expect another slap at the Tea Party hidden in the story. I know the article was about Dr. Who, a British attempt at scifi with some of the worst acting I have ever seen. But I know there is a cult-like following, like the Democrat Party. Bow down and kiss his majesty's ring.
William Hartnell (the first doctor) was the best doctor. I watched the show in the beginning as a 9 year old and returned to the states, and went through Dr. Who withdrawal. Nobody across the pond knew anything about english TV in the sixties. I went back to England in the 70's. Tom Baker was the doctor and I was appalled. The doctor had regenerated into Ronald McDonald (Jelly baby, anyone? They're delicious!). Both the BBC and I completely abandoned Dr. Who until the best writer in television today, Russell T. Davies, resurrected the doctor with a brilliant set of scripts featuring a real actor, Christopher Ecclestone, as the doctor. I love the new series, but my heart belongs to the original white haired floppy hatted cape wearing grumpy doctor.
You seem to have missed the point of the Tea Party. Their purpose is not to win elections; it's to make the increasingly conservative and corporatist Democrats look liberal by comparison. The Tea Party will have won a major victory if Clinton gets the 2016 nomination.
David Tennant might be the most popular, but Tom Baker (Doctor #4) was the best.
Gonzo, I'll bet you don't even get invited to parties unless it's a bunch of socialist losers passing the bong and bashing Bush.
Way to stay on subject, nam6870vet. I bet you're a blast at parties.
Infuriate? Me? No way, Cuz. His column is right up there with a good Marx Bros. movie. Signed up yet, Tommy ?
You must have gone to school at TUSD, because you obviously do not know of what you speak.
I wonder why someone with such obvious lack of intellect would believe he angers the Tea Party folks. They try and try to enlighten Tom, but he refuses to understand the issues of excessive taxation, government control, intrusion and expansion into our daily lives. Apparently, Tom has never read the Constitution or he doesn't believe it applies to modern times. I can only wonder how he ever was allowed to write for any paper with such a closed mind.
