"when the authorities lit the hotel on fire to apprehend John Dillinger and his gang". Are you stupid or just can't read? It's understandable that the Hotel Congress would want to promote bogus ghost stories to increase business. Apparently they and you never read the publication they sell at the front desk at the hotel about the Dillinger gang.
John Dillinger never step foot into the hotel. Two of his gang members stayed there. And they had nothing to do with the fire.
To state that the "authorities would set fire to the htel to get the gang " is beyond stupid.
The Tucson Police were already looking for the gang members but they didn't know it was the Dillinger Gang. Then the fire broke out. The gang members tipped a couple of TFD members to get their luggage out of the hotel. The bags were heavy (full of guns) and the TFD guys saw the pictures of the gang in a crime magazine and alerted the police. For other reasons the police were already looking for them, but they didn't know which gang they were.
If te Hotel Congress wants you to write a "ghost story" they could have done better. Start looking for a job that does not involve reading or ANY kind of research. I hear WalMart is looking for workers.
DM: I bet he has his own "Donkey Sauce" recipe as well
Sorry, Barry White was the Master. R. Kelly is barely a Padawan by comparison.
This should have happened three years ago when it was blatantly obvious that the Republicans were going to do nothing more than stall anything and everything that might come up for a vote in the Senate.
I am a mother to a young daughter and a member of an ELCA church. I was forwarded this article from a friend and am truly shocked. I have always been proud to be a member of the ELCA but am very disappointed in the leader of this church. This type of information--hiring a registered sex offender into a leadership position--needs to be shared with the entire congregation. It is up to them whether or not they remain a member of this church and whether or not they choose to interact with this individual. By hiding it the way the church did shows there was something wrong with the situation.
I am also shocked and incredibly disturbed at some of the comments made. Throwing out citations on recidivism (or his ability as a musician) is completely ignoring the feelings and experiences that these young women had as victims. Have some compassion! It may be that this man never rapes another child again... but that isn't the point. The point is that he DID do this and ruined the lives of many people.
I looked up the story and he was a teacher that molested at least two girls. One article I read said "he thought they were 16." That was his defense. It's sick. He used his power and authority to manipulate them and the entire community. Whatever the church decides to do, I as a parent would never let my daughter near this person and would question anyone that trusts him around young women.
They had their own show back in the 80's. Anyone else remember 'Fall Guy'?
Dear lord. He looks like a skinny Guy Fieri, with even less charisma.
Actually, this mining company has never operated a mine, Augusta Resource is a speculator, not an experienced mining operator. An important note is the SSSR press release concerns the moribund stock price for Augusta Resource shares, now flirting with junk bond status. If shares dip below a buck, the fat lady may be singing sooner rather than later.
EPA holds the final hand and this latest news is good news to those of us who have been vocal in our opposition to Rosemont Mine.
If Martha wants to represent me and the district I live in she ought to make some time to find out what's going on in Washington. It's not like the bills that have been put forth are top secret and there certainly haven't been more than a dozen that represent actual legislation, especially from the House.
If she can't find time to do that now, without all of the distractions of DC, how will she ever have time if elected to office?
Nothing said cool more than McAllister's mullet
I have to agree with the part that the Americans understand it very well. I really don't think the liberals know what is going to happen. They need to do more research on some of these other countries like North Korea and China for starters. They should also do research on this single payer plan like they have in the UK and Canada. They may not think it is a big deal now but if they need something serious taken care of they will have to wait. I was always told when I get old enough to take care of myself and move out of my parents house that I could make my own choices. I should be able to choose what insurance, coverage, and doctor or doctors I want. I should also be able to keep what I earn from my hard work. This is not what is happening.
great point, holdthispair. that's some solid debatin'.
stop this disaster of a mine. it is foolish to believe any claims of ecological responsibility and significant economic impact from the mining company. they have a bit of a track record. we will be left with a hole and poisoned water, permanently. if you haven't noticed, there are almost no running waterways left in SE AZ.
Interfaith Community Services, which runs its own food bank at 2820 W. Ina Road, began its holiday food bag distribution on Monday and it runs through next Wednesday. The bags have all the ingredients for needy families to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but ICS could still use donations of frozen hams and turkeys. They're going through 50-100 of them a day.
People should not follow a criticism of proof-reading with a grammatical error.
This is the first thing I read in the Weekly. I just love it. Wish it was a whole page.
The undocumented immigrant movement has developed into a very savvy group with their smart phones and clandestine meetings teaching the methods of social unrest. Imagine how much better their homelands would have been if they had tried to improve their way of life there. But it is easier to collapse the republic rather than stay home and fix those problems.
Fred; I saw some passing comments about Barber's voting record, but never with the kind of vitriol he exercise toward Republicans. I have met Jim while a student at U of A, he is a nice man but does not have an unbiased bone in his body. He lives and breathes the liberal agenda and anyone who dares disagree with him are subject to serious scorn. If he would try to understand the other view points rather than ridicule them, he may see there is some reason and logic to the sides. I try to do that and take great umbrage when I see a wrong.
Can you explain the last paragraph? Is the Star going to charge to be able to read the online version in 2014?
That will be the death rattle if the paper. I used to enjoy reading the Sunday edition. Now I go through it in 10 minutes. Only the sports section is readable. 2/3 of the Sunday paper is ads. My recycling can is always filled.
Has anyone thought that the TPD incident in front of the church was a set up. Either by the police or by the pro-illegal alien church members? The TPD chief is probably with the church members. (How's that for enforcing the laws!)
Why is this idiot Grijalva still in office??? Are you people in his district fucking brain dead??
