One, marijuana is not harmful, it is not a narcotic, it is not intoxicating like alcohol and real narcotics are. As I stated, that real estate agent and her client were not lost. They knowingly tresspassed and apologized afterward. Pamela Williams had her property fenced off with signs intact, there is no excuse for purposely tresspassing. If anyone, was caught on my property and I called the police, heard no sirens, and had someone walk towards me unannounced in the dark after being tormented by neighboors and disregarded by police, you are damn right I and most people would shoot, hell, most people might not even be so nice as to fire warning shots. You believe you are in the right, but the fact is you know nothing about the reality of what happened. And the Sheriffs department is the reason she is in this situation, the full blame weighs on their back for their unjust manipulation of this case and made up facts, the fact that the joke of a prosecutor maliciously pursued her inarceration to the fullest extent only adds to the injustice. Not only this, but the fact the officer who was not even present testified against her also is exemplary as to who is a direct bearer of blame. You do not know all the facts, and have no right to speak against a woman who never shoot any firearm without reason. It is you, and people like you who the Pinal County Sheriffs department depend upon to believe and preach their lies.
I didn't like the idea of this law. It smacks of Mississippi in the 1950's. So what happens if a Jewish Deli owner refuses service to a bus load of Nazi Skinheads? Or a black cafe owner refuses service to a bus load of KKK Members on their way to a hate rally. I thought a business owner has a right to do business with who he wants or doesn't want? You cant refuse service due to race creed or color but what about the other situations.
If you have birth control methods available then the abortion rate (unwanted babies) will go down. You can't be against abortion and birth control at the same time. Take your pick.
On another note, why not write about the frequency swap of KFMA and KCMT?
One marijuana is a narcotic. Two, you do not blame the Sheriff's Department for the Attroney's decision to ask for that sentence. In most local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies, the officers do not have any say in what the person gets in a trial.
Three, ANYONE can walk up to your door and you can not fire even a warning shot at them. Because anyone with any sense realizes that walking up a driveway or side walk to the front door is the natural way a visitor walks up to your door. The issue is she fired a gun towards someone that was walking up on her driveway. She was in the wrong.
Heck, she fired at someone that was lost and wanted directions. She fired at a real estate agent. She might be a nice person, but it seems like the family and the sheriff's department dropped the ball on this situation. However, she ultimately was the one that fired at the officer, even if it was a warning shot.
Damn, it was vetoed.
Thanks Anthony. If a serious question is being asked and there aren't a dozen issues mixed together, I like to participate in the conversation.
It's not exactly a secret. There have been TV programs (some on PBS, I think) about parts of that kind of DoD program going on for years.
Planned Parenthood Arizona President and CEO Bryan Howard called the Supreme Court's decision "a victory for Arizona women and their families."
Victory for them and DEATH to the children? Somebody is keeping score.
He built quite well upon the worst depression in the history of the county. 6 continuous years of unemployment and financial suffering. And then he saddles us with Obamacare. It's easier to pay people not to work, with your money, than it is to create jobs.
What a liar he is.
He couldn't build a Tinker -toy.
These charges are pure bullshit. I could understand probation, maybe a misdemeanor charge. Poor Mrs. Williams got railroaded by Pinal County Sheriffs Dept. I personally know this family. Any one of them would give you the shirt off thier backs. Good people done wrong. Shame on you Pinal County, for locking up a innocent women. 7.5 years for a 65 year old women could be the same as a death sentence. I pray not. Fuck Pinal County!
No, she did not fire at an officer of the law, hence the bullets found in the ground. This is one of the most unjustly ridiculous cases Ive ever stood by and witnessed. I have known this woman for 16 years and she is the literal definition of kindness and helpful. The trial was a practical joke, making it seem as though she was a public menace for firing warning shots at the ground as unannounnced POSSE members flooded her property after she called the police herself. The so called deputy Fernando Ruiz was in reality, not at the scene at the time of the incident like he so adamantly testified. A 'marijuana expert' was presented at the trial, explaining that marijuana makes you dangerously aggressive, while only .04 microns of thc were found in her bloodstream in the first place. This has absolutely made me and everyone I know view the disgrace that is Pinal County as the truely unjust and crooked so called justice system that it is. It was not mentioned that Bruce fay has been arrested 17 times but has never been convicted once, sound fishy? We thought so too. The fact that the public statements made and pursual of an innocent 65 year old saint show nothing but aggression and completely unjustified malicious attacks is truely sickening. as far as this real estate agent scenario goes, Pamela williams kept her property chained off, these tresspassers knowingly, not accidentally, removed her barrier which held a no tresspassing sign on it. They even refused to press charges until Pinal County stated that since they would not, the county would.
David, Thanks for your informative article. I also appreciate how you have extended yourself to answer the reader above in a respectful way.
First thing she has done right since she stole, I mean took office, and it took a beating from the entire nation to even force her hand to do that
Did any of you actually even read the bill? It really doesn't sound like it... By the way, I find the name calling here very interesting...is that the new definition of tolerance? I'm glad that Brewer vetoed the bill because it didn't really change the current law that much and Arizona businesses weren't breaking that law in the first place. It was, in reality, a real non-starter and not worth all the hype to the state. You people are so easily lead...
HB 2547 cost-benefit analysis: The taxpayers of the state foot the cost, while we reap the benefits!
I live in Pinal County. The sheriff and the new county attorney are a joke. A disgrace to law enforcement. And Mike, you are an idiot.
