Take standard Mexican fare and turn it into a salad and somehow it becomes noteworthy. Weird and odd come to mind but not inventive and certainly not good.
Disappointed to see Allegro didn't get a nom. Now THAT'S gelato.
Could we get a Best Computer repair shop in TUCSON Category? Thanks :)
I really wish there was a category for personal trainers and small locally-owned gyms. Why should a conglomerate big box even be included as a Best of Tucson category? At the very least, Tucson's best personal trainer or something like that, to recognize the small privately owned facilities that are getting and keeping Tucson healthy!
My first tattoo was done at one of the Enchanted Dragon locations and i had looked at the artist's book and his work was beautiful. I later got my tattoo from the same guy but my tattoo does not look like what i wanted. I would never sent a friend to Enchanted Dragon to get a tattoo..at least the location i went to. I feel it doesn't matter if you look at portfolios or not because the work could be great but that doesn't mean anything for your own tattoo. I agree that the relationship between artist and customer need improvment. Since my tattoo I have been looking for a better place.
I just took a recent trip to Luxor cafe on Prince and Campbell. They had great Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and great service. Definitely will be going there again soon!
"Tea-bagging" huh? Do you personally, know anybody from the Tea Party? If so, how would they feel to be called "tea-baggers?" Doesn't matter at all, Jimmy, me lad, whether you like or abhor Jon Justice. It's the insult of the matter and referring to Tea Partiers as "tea-baggers" is, indeed, an insult. Anyone not aware of this might just google it. And Jimmy, I was friggin' born here. I know Tucson. And we usually don't insult folks we don't even know. What do you have to say for yourself?
Been going to Jaybees for almost 20 years. Why? Superior knowledge and servcie, naturally. I heartily recommend it to anyone reading. These folks treat you right! And, no, I'm not family, just a very satisfied and long-term customer.
This show is full of fun and so entertaining! A must see for kids of all ages. The music system is of high quality. Young and old gathered to see the spectacular show at the Arizona Centennial Celebration at Best Fest, Phoenix. We enjoyed the Arizona themed performance and music from afar but could see an occasional elaborate puppet as we manned our booth. Highly energetic and loads of fun to watch.
to the above comment- how many African restaurants in the city of Tucson can you count? You do realize that many of the "best of Tucson" categories are based on the limited variety of foods/restaurants we have in Tucson (eg "best Shawarma"). Take some benzo's Seriously?
Funny how the weekly really thinks that this guy was such a great chef. He has no original ideas. Everything comes from the internet or his staff.
My first impression was not a good one. First of all, a ten dollar burger should be bigger than my head or else it better be amazing. Mine was neither. I ordered it medium and it was burnt, not a little red at all and carbon flavor like it just sat in the flare ups. The lettuce was sub-par, mostly white and brown pieces. It really bothers me as an ex restaurant cook when I'm spending so much on a simple dish and they don't even try to make it like I like it. I would recommend In-n-Out (my fav) or Five Guys both over zinburger.
I am thankful that the local guys are still beating out Total Wine. But You should all try another Local place. Wine Depot, Tucson's only wine importer. Not only local but they also have the best wine.
Great piece. Brought back a lot of memories of a very talented team that was able to win the close games when it counted.
Beg to differ, took out of town visitors to JBar this past summer....and I have just moved back to Tucson after 5 yrs....and JBar was a total disaster, from it looking dirty and uncared for to the food being some of the most mediocre I've ever been served. I was embarrassed and disappointed. With a restaurant there is only one try, and I cannot ever imagine returning there.
"I can't eat your pizza because I disagree with your politics." Get some perspective, asshat.
I agree that the food is pretty bland. I was hugely dissappointed after reading reviews about Blue Willow. I do like the setting and the gift shop, but do not go here for food, you will most likely be disappointed. I give the Blue Willow 1 star.
Haha, I like the joke about REI
Great film about a great radio station. R Dub has been and continues to be a driven, authentic, 100% solid Radio personality w a vision. Thank you R Dub for this film. Thank you for bringing back so many great memories.
