Is Umi where Cartel Coffee was, just across Water Street from eegee's?
Welcome to the 'hood!
Umi Star is amazing. My wife and I have been there twice already.
flavors of bacon? pastrami, corned beef, and mesquite? or mango, pina colada and lemon? i prefer bacon flavored bacon personally.
Wonder how much North Fattoria Italiana (such a weird name) will resemble the chain establsihment Trio Tuscan Grille....
Unfortunately the links to www.thelittlegreektucson.com and www.tucsongreekfest.com are broken -- they end in ".co", not ".com".
It looks like Frosty Jake's at Country Club and Grant is no more.
The Hell Fire Pizza truck was at the Civano Nursery- I was impressed my order- a goat cheese and chorizo sausage pizza that also included mozarella and chiles. Spicy, excellent crust- my husband doesn't care for goat cheese but I urged him to try a bite and he agreed it was really, really good.
A sign has gone up in the Speedway/Wilmot plaza for the space which was R&R BBQ... Look for a new Greek restaurant to open there!
A sign on the Cereal Boxx window said they were closed for the summer. I know they've done this in the past. Perhaps it is just a temporary shutdown with students out of town and University Blvd. torn to shreds?
oops, just found a second page. that's more like it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mexico-City-Kitchen/165271613504218
At your suggestion, I went to see more about Mexico City Kitchen on facebook. 6 likes and no posts. Seems unlikely I'll find out where they are from facebook.
Not surprised to hear about Elle; last time I ate there was in 2008; the food was great but the service was terrible and had been the time before that, too. It's a shame but there are so many great restaurants in Tucson and not one of them can afford inept service; diners will just go elsewhere! Sorry, Jeff.
True cheesesteak fans will continue to go to Frankie's. Often imitated, but rarely duplicated, Frankie's does it right!
Wise-Guy - maybe you should spend your restaurant dollars in California or some other lefty-NIMBY wonderland. But, thanks for the info. Mexican food and a local microbrew will surely hit the spot for dinner tonight!
Don't be a burrowing owl wise-guy,even enviormentalists enjoy a good local beer, its excellent......
El Charro/ Sir Veza (along with McMahon and An restaurants) are in support of Rosemont mine. Those of us who believe that mine would be an ecological disaster would do well to spend our dining dollars elsewhere. Needless to say, I will NOT be trying their signature beer.
Lindy's place has a nightclub in back that packs it out. Should be just fine. The question is who likes mediocre Mexican taco's in a town FULL of good places to eat.
Re: “Noshing Around”
MaFooCo how I have missed you so!
