Why don't they just go back to the way it was in the '60's & '70's? And I know how hard it is to get good help in the biz.

I haven't visited this restaurant yet and I think comment posts can be helpful in deciding where to eat but they shouldn't be the only reason you don't visit. Everyone has an opinion and we all have bad days. Being out of product and having your servers ignorant to the products you do have can make it a lousy visit, no doubt. But give them a chance to get their feet wet and hopefully things will turn around.

As one of the owners of Saguaro Corners I wanted to share some thoughts. First I will say that Dan's experience on Sunday was a bit of a trend at the end of July, beginning of August. Since then we have let go of the general manager (the grunter) and have revamped the kitchen to enhance the food quality. We will continue to tweak food, service and atmosphere since we have been open less than five months. Our ultimate goal is to create a special and wonderful music venue on the Eastside. Rest assured we are a tireless group of people that believe great food, fun music, consistent service and a special atmosphere is needed on the far eastside. So please don't give up on us because of a poor Sunday for Dan. In fact our goal is to exceed your expectations and add a unique venue/restaurant on the eastside. We look forward to Dan's third visit. Thanks for listening.

I had heard good comments about La Placita, so when I had a doctor's appointment nearby, I decided this was the perfect time to treat myself. When I arrived, several tables were occupied and the door was open. The hostess greeted me and I asked for a table for one. She said, "oh I'm sorry, we close at 2." I looked at my watch: it was not quite 2:02 p.m. I asked if she was tied to that time, since it was barely 2 pm and she said yes, there were no exception, the restaurant closes at 2 for lunch. This is not as though I showed up with a party of 8 -- I was alone, looking for a quick lunch. I hadn't read the restaurant's webpage before going and their business hours are not obvious (if posted at all) on the doors or windows.

This is not good business. I don't particularly care what the food or decor are. There are plenty of excellent Mexican restaurants in Tucson and I will give my business to those who are happy to have customers and will not refuse to serve them 1 or 2 minutes after closing in the middle of the day. No bueno, La Placita!

We went on Second Saturday night, and there were glitches. Food was OK, I would have expected something a bit more ... spectacular, given all the hype this place has received. Server messed up drink order. Not sure we'll go back with all of the other amazing choices now in this 'burg.

I've not been yet (I work a block down/east) but I'm hearing the same things - nice to have some upscale food downtown but it still needs a little work. Each time I walk by, they've always been pretty full which is great.

You are incorrect about the peanut oil and peanut allergies. Allergies come from protein and oil does not contain protein therefore, no allergies.
