Is "Nine Questions" still a viable item or not?
Either update it or get rid of it.
Tucson Weekly is suffering under all this new leadership and contributors.
Where are the new 9 Questions?
I look forward to the "9 questions".Please update.
This is from January 22. Where are the recent "9 questions"?
You will instantly fall in love. This is one artist you must see perform.
This young lady is my niece...and our family is sooo utterly proud of her!!! She is a phenomenal artist and Tuscon has gotten one of our very best! The vibe and love you feel in her music is the very heart of who she really is EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK! Be good to her Arizona, if not, we'll take her back! Love my Mica...Auntie Carol!
You're on your way!!! I miss you here in nh! But SOOO very happy for you!
This girl is an up and coming star! Her bright shining spirit and sultry silky voice stands out from the crowd. I only wish she and Doug were still performing in NH. Barb and I would be there every night. Go shake up the world Mica!
Nice to read about someone who appreciates Captain Beefheart. :-)
Without the talisman our powers will be useless!
Thanks to these Nine Questions, by Mari Herreras and answers by Ernesto Portillo, Jr, I can explore a variety of music I did not know about and I will certainly avoid "Techno-banda!"
keep tucson ernesto.
Great pick on favorite album
Great pick on fav album.
street pajama is was and always will be shit. That girl 'singer' is horrible.
What the hell is a Sun Bones. Another never heard of Tucson band. Anybody ever heard them other than their girlfriends and family.
What a joke.
Agree with your comments about Mumford and especially the one note Lumineers, but I think the Avett Bros have something to offer.
Wire's Pink Flag...also a good one.
I'm old enuf to remember Street Pajama...They were a pretty good local band for sure.
Foster......first off, before you criticize somebody's grammar , I suggest you proof read
your own screed.
As to my musical accomplishments, I can assure you that as a performer and a recording engineer in LA, I have played well outside somebody's house and for many years.
Bands like Godhunter here in Tucson are usually a joke. I've heard these guys and they fit the definition. Another go nowhere Tucson band who is lucky to even find a place to play.
As to flipping people off, it's a tired cliche done by those with zero imagination and a low iq.
@ Chis Foster - *applause*
Dear Timmothy...if you're offended by David flipping the bird then you must not be old enough to drive or competent enough to obtain a valid driver's license in the state of Arizona. I see the bird fly high every day. Before you criticize David or his band and try to measure their success in any sort of arrogant fashion do us all a favor and start off with your accomplishments with associated prove to back you statements. I'd be willing to bet you have never been in a band or if you were you guys did not do a damn thing outside of a members house let alone write more then one album and actually have them pressed and released on multiple formats. So next time you have the motivation to type run on sentences why don't you use all of your mental capacity to redirect that motivation into standing up and attending a show to see if they actually play for "25 people maybe twice a year" then you have merit to make such claims.
-Sincerely Everyone who has ever done anything for the Tucson music scene
