Re: “Truth, Possibilities

WOW. Sorry, I prefer FACTS not FEELS:

"Stryker believes this reimagining is crucial to challenging scientific ideas of “objective truth or knowledge.” Instead, one of somatechnics’ goals is to have people recognize that there’s no understanding that comes from a disembodied place. "

Regarding beauty standards. Those who can never attain supposed beauty standards are essentially not only leaving the game, but telling the original contestants that they shouldn't play and giving themselves a trophy.

Re: “Partial Freedom

So no bill would have been preferable to a flawed bill? Councilman Kozachik's disappointment is understandable but given the disinterest of the AZ GOP Legislature to social justice, its amazing that ANYTHING made it through. It should also have been pointed out in the article that this is a national campaign and success in all fifty states will take years of patient struggle against conservative prosecutors and judges like Montgomery.

Re: “Fed Up

Learning is a joy unto itself and it can train, enhance and enrich any job or relationships with people. What a joy to learn and work in the world. Life can be so much better with more learning. I agree larryd..... it is so important to any society and it enables so many to better their life! So sad some do not value education but it truly is their loss. I would think it would be a shallow existence however, to each his own. They should not put that on others though.

Re: “Fed Up

You can have a GED, a High School diploma, an Associate Degree, an Baccalaureate Degree, A Masters Degree, A PhD. Do you know what the best Degree to have is?

A JOB..................... You should ask yourself this question? Will this class or training help me get the best Degree of all, a JOB. Many of the classes you take are not worth the time or trouble and are basically worthless in the real world. School/College is a protected environment and NOT the world of work.

Re: “Smoke and Mirrors

Tobacco is a poison and a carcinogen; most people who smoke or chew tobacco die from their habit, as it is with Alcohol. Most drinkers end up dead from a failed liver, or an accident. Many end up dead from lead poisoning, a gunshot wound during a quarrel or from the police.

Pima County is correct is increasing the insurance payment from nicotine addicts and drunks. These employees are the center of the web when it comes to insurance costs If you are a drunk or a nicotine addict you should pay more as the insurance risks are greater for you and your addiction. No one cares if you are a nicotine addict or a drunk but the rest of us should not have to pay for your suicide.

Re: “Breaking Borders

Tére Fowler Chapman is an immensely talented individual.

But please fix the headline "Tucson Poetry Festival and it’s new director work to change the status quo and celebrate poetry."

It should read "its new director."

Re: “Evicted

Housing is always option number one on their list. Richard is in a waiting list for housing as we speak.

Re: “Breaking Borders

Tere is a talented individual and the community is lucky to have her at the helm of the Tucson Poetry Festival. And what a festival it is. . .all events free, including a reading by Claudia Rankine! You'd be hard pressed to get that kind of quality FOR FREE anywhere else but at Arizona's poetry festival, TPF XXXII!

Re: “Evicted

How many are even actual Arizona Residents?

Can't attempt to apply for subsidized housing, but know a civil rights lawyer? Lost me at that one.

Re: “Evicted

Would it be possible to adjust the headline so it refers to homeless PEOPLE? "Homeless" is an adjective -- NOT a noun. Just because they don't have a place to live, doesn't mean they've stopped being PEOPLE.

Re: “Vendor Village

No one at TW bothered to list which day this event takes place. My guess is on Saturday, April 11.

Re: “Evicted

Utah is the shining example of true help...they don't have ANY homeless problem because the HOUSE them!!! Cut the red tape and treat these people like people...their down on their luck. Life can go that way...you can't get your unemployment when you need it...no family to help..mental illness...we need to stop the reptilian mentality and get back to being compassionate human beings...people don't WANT to live like pigs...they WANT incomes...real jobs with real wages that can pay the bills. This society once was an example of greatness...until the civil rights movement opened the doors to equality and suddenly people stopped being liberal and enacted rules that continue to economically keep us as seperate as slaves to the rich and benign...things have GOT to change...if you can afford to get fat...play your stupid games and buy another usless TOY you can afford to care a little MORE about your fellow man.

Re: “A Rich Switch

First of all, I don't condone the richman's stooge governor ripping us all off even more but we also need to clean house in the City of Tucson and start over. The present mafia in power only strive to personally enrichen themselves through the gov-private corporate-welfare revolving door with our money. Then they use the multiple local low IQ badged goons to oppress the poor. The rich snobbish arrogant east coaster mental patients always use the brown people to do all the dirty work and to pay for it en mass. Tucson is one of the most corrupt cities in the nation, we need a visit from the DOJ ala Ferguson, MO.

Re: “Dignified Displacement

Wow good sir. This report doesn't have everything that has gone in since then. Also I don't sleep in parks, nor was this a 'fresh start' as you would say. I came down here to help my mother out with my autistic nephew. Problems arose as he has mental issues to so I decided to leave. BTW you should give a frack about this cause your paying for it all. Lol, is it worth it sir? Ohh its gonna be fun downtown soon again. :) this kind of responses to homeless issues is why were now starting to fight back. Last time I'm saying this 'Is it worth it'? We don't ask for money or at least I don't. I can get clothes n food all day long but a shower shoes and a crack to give is priceless. :)

Re: “Dignified Displacement

Addicted to Spice (is that even possible??), Bi-polar and a convicted felon, and came here from Wisconsin "for a fresh start".

Am I supposed to feel pity for this person? We need to help real Arizona citizens, not transplants who come here for the nice weather and parks to sleep in.

I don't know if anyone has any real answers regarding homelessness, but it is far down on my lists of fracks to give. Education, infrastructure, taxes, police corruption/brutality, the economy, the border, for profit prisons and so on.

Catch, spay and release does not work with stray cats and it does not work with free-range humans. Can they move to Canada?
