This was an epic concert, to say the least!! Jimmy Cliff and his band lifted the audience so high we were levitating above the earth. This was a truly jammin' concert.
I saw that gig, and though I though I liked the CHURCHKEYS' energy and dissonance, I thought that the end result was headached-inducing, because everone (it appeared) to be solo-ing at once; everyone was leader at the same time. DISCOS are great; very original. The head mic doesnt bother me. The NIGHT BEATS had a great drummer who was beating the shucks out of his floor tom with a maracca. Everyone in all the bands were too cool to talk to the audience. A snotty vibe prevailed through-out the night. (Hey Josh, I think your band (Hairspray...etc) are great by the way...)
You perfectly captured what we saw, heard and felt. Thank you!
Three LPs? Which one did I miss besides 'Honky tonk Music' and 'Domino Joe', and where can I get it?
PIKE....you are a diamond in the rough my friend....thanks for the love!! YES!! we do need more features that surround Tucson hip-hop!! It is a thriving scene and culture!! Mad love to all those make it possible to keep thriving!!
great review! wishing i was at the show. "whiskey breath" is a dope track. and gunky knuks is a beast on beats.
id love to hear more about the local hip hop scene in weekly. it's such a large community with not enough shine. thank you tucson weekly for recognizing good talent like Big Meridox!

I love the photo!
you make it sound like he was on the organ all night, you fail to mention he spent at least a 1/3 of the show from center stage often just singing and digging into his harmonica playing...and you also forget to mention when he picked up the guitar and decided to really rock it out on "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'"
best Tucson Dylan show since '02!
I saw this show, it was great! Very well written review by Mel Mason.
Check out our new Foster the People rock poster!
Great show, had a really nice time. Having never heard them before, Bella Ruse was a neat surprise.
I took my girlfriend up to Glendale to see these guys last year...ABSOLUTELY the BEST concert we have been to in the past ten years...! ROCK ON, MICK AND CREW...!
I was crushed to be out of town; I would have loved to have seen this show.
Last time I saw him live was in Phoenix 13 years ago, and despite how much I love him, his old-man butt in velvet pants made me sad.
It was an excellent show.
They are my absolute favorite!! So feisty with lovely heartbreaking angst that I thrive on! I can't wait to hear them again!!!
I was at the show last November and the amount of energy shared between the bands and audience was unbelievable. I think anyone that enjoys live music should try going to a Logan Greene and the Bricks show, you'll have a blast no matter what.
This concert was incredible! Tucson missed out on a great opportunity for an amazingly good time. It's unfortunate that such a talented band falls right into a huge gap in the middle of the music scene right between literally white and black music. And all the while idiots continue to clutter our airwaves with uninspired and unoriginal crappy music.
Long live Fishbone! EVERDAY SUNSHINE!!!
