While it did put me ahead of my peers at my new school, I don't think it would have benefitted me at all in the long run to be in such a rigorous school. People at that school are also not nearly as friendly as the people at the school I now go to.
Ex Basis-student here. I left right before Junior year, right when everyone warned me about how important it is. Yes, they do weed you out. If you don't have a certain GPA, they will tell you to graduate early. My college counselor told me this to me face: "We recommend that you graduate next year, because senior year wouldn't be useful to you." In case you don't know, half of senior year is a research project that looks great on college applications. I wasn't some kid getting Fs and Ds and Cs. I got Bs and As and a few Cs here and there. They told me this at the end of 10th grade, and expected me to graduate in 11th. Mind you, no one prepared me for this. I wasn't warned ahead of time so that I could take my SATs or prepare an art portfolio. They wouldn't care if I was left in the dirt once I graduated.
The teachers admit that they are afraid of the parents and would rather not communicate with them. On top of that, there is a load of work that the students are put through. I wasn't doing well in my history class in 10th, and the teacher barely helped me.
In summary, don't go to this school unless you want to be pushed out or stressed to the point of no return.
What a stupid retarded country!!!!!! The one silver lining to this bullshit is that it costs the stupid fucking united states of north korea around forty thousand dollars a year to keep an inmate in jail and every once and a while a stinking cop gets killed, although not often enough!!!!!
In my opinion, the HUMANITIES get too short of shrift these days, so when they are part of life in a school, it is a GOOD THING.......

Isn't that special?
I know proofy. I was trying to give them some practise.
Foothills Dad comes home!
It's "proofread" actually, not "proof read".
Really Katie? Try reading up on what has happened to Seattle since they made a sharp left turn. Business is leaving the city. Employees will follow. Start over.
"And the award for the least proof read paper published monthly, goes to...."
The Tucson Monthly.
None of the raging fears of the right have ever materialized from minimum wage increases. Regardless of Neumark's premier status, minimum wages have been law for a long time now.
"Neumark found that putting a minimum wage into law severely hurts the poor by reducing their incomes."
Ridiculous and contrary to actual years of data.
Still true today!
I have to say, the best play I've ever seen was UA students performing, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I was completely blown away.
David Neumark is the nation's premier researcher on minimum wage. Neumark wrote a whole book on the subject (Minimum Wages, Amazon), wherein he sifted through hundreds of studies to determine the effects of minimum wage.
Neumark found that putting a minimum wage into law severely hurts the poor by reducing their incomes. It now only reduces the incomes of the poor immediately but it changes the trajectory of their entire economic lives by denying them the work experiences that enable them to climb the ladder of economic opportunity.
We see this most severely recently with the economic downturn. 85% of African American youth, 16 to 24 years, are locked out of the job market. We have an all time record number of job openings and 85% unemployment.
The minimum wage causes jobs to shift from the poor to the children of the rich and it further reduces incomes by reducing the total number of jobs.
The minimum wage provides very little benefit to anyone as 85% of people who work in minimum wage are at higher levels within three years.
Bad in theory bad in practice, politically popular. We are still the people who believed the world was flat and the earth the center of the universe.
I think the plot is better than the Bridges of Madison County "oscars awards" where the letter is delivered and this story is dropped on the kids at the burial service.
That mom and was not happy, had a beautiful affair had a chance to leave. No she stayed for the kids and dad and was miserable and wanted to be dropped for eternity next to Eastwood. She just wanted the kids to know one last twist of resentment.
Me I would droper her right on top of DAD same plot and paid for eternity of maintenance. Ever wonder the lifetime of guilt tripped these kids? It was her time and regret not theirs.
Just how far popular actors are understood. Does anyone really think that Jerry Lewis would get a unprejudiced review just where was the casting director yea. Well maybe reading the note he found one can understand the affair. After all what would you do if married to Jerry Lewis. I have to see it it has to be better than bridges. 6 academy awards and 14 nominations
Can't shake it: AZ Senator playing Video Poker while "at work".
This Campaign Financing, on both sides, is pure BS; especially the Reports in the Arizona Daily Independent (ADI); an Online Forum for Racists and Bigots!!
Substantive change in TUSD will NOT come with a Change in the composition of the Board/Administration. It will only come when TUSD Teachers regain Control of their Classroom as given them by Arizona Law: Arizona Revised Statutes 1- 841, A(1)(2). TUSD Teachers have been Professionally Emasculated by the Board/Administration. They have permitted such to happen by NOT speaking out under the guise of Job Security and at the expense of their Students and Academic Programs.
I went there Saturday morning at 9 AM...and saw nothing going on and no one there
