Re: “Another Lens at the Oracle Protest/Counter Protest

Ailing Hill, sorry you are angered by ignorance. But the welfare rolls are larger now because people in America aren't making living wages. And you might be surprised that the number of us living in poverty are not only people of color, but those who are also White Americans. So yes, thank you for paying your taxes. You do don't you? And that isn't you in the photo with your neck veins so distended, that it looks like you are going to explode! Is it?

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

g iven the number of out of state plates down there on Tuesday, I am sure those nice militia types blocking the road just didn't know it was illegal........Although our friendly sheriff made it perfectly clear to those of us 3 miles down the road peacefully holding up signs of bienevidos (not nearly as much media coverage of us) that we were not to interfere with traffic. Guess he forgot to tell the militia guys and the politicos.

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

Trainman's wife, I think that it is the republic-cannots and wont's who desire cheap labor. Why do you think the GOP is against the minimum wage? More profits for GOP contributors. Do facts make any sense to you? Do some more reading, watch less Fox News, and you won't feel like you are the caboose.

Re: “Andrew Thomas Will Fight the Mexicans, Gays and Liberals, According to His Terrible New Ad

I don't know whether to hope for Scott Smith to win the primary, since he is clearly the most reasonable Republican candidate (no, it is not a COMPLETE oxymoron), or hope for some nutball like Thomas to win (to make it easier for Duvall). Well, since we don't have open primaries, and since I know wishing and praying have no effect on the real world, I guess it doesn't matter.

Print version misidentifies the woman (Sisley) featured in the page 11 photo as UA President Hart ... how does this happen? Smoke on the water, fire in the sky?

Re: “Babeu's Pre-Protest Robocall For His Self-Promotion Tour

What if a bus load of exotic undocumented, brown-skinned boy toys were sent to him from Obama? What a conundrum for the Penile County Sheriff. Shall I let them through, Christine? Sure, Paul...go ahead but first, check 'em out for me. Yes, ma'am. Right away, ma'am.

Re: “Andrew Thomas Will Fight the Mexicans, Gays and Liberals, According to His Terrible New Ad

christine jones...? She is Jan Brewer with a better command of the English language. Alas, she would be another woman governor, and that is not what the Grumpy Old Putzes at the Goldwater "think tank" want to see happen. What I would like to see, is an ad with all six candidates in a clown car beeping their noses at Arizonans, saying, "you don't need jobs do you? Because you're out of luck... Industry doesn't want to come to Arizona because we are a national embarrassment, and we're almost last in spending for our future-Your Children!"

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

And right on cue, along comes trainmanswife as further evidence of the cult of fear, hatred, xenophobia and ignorance that is sweeping this country. Like clockwork, out come the ugly lies in an effort to dehumanize these poor kids- it makes it easier to hate them if you can reduce them to some sort of non-human other.

Everything in that post is a lie. These kids are thoroughly screened on the spot for infectious diseases and are given a TB test and all necessary vaccinations immediately, despite the fact that all these countries routinely give all their children the BCG vaccination (unlike the U.S.). In fact the overall vaccination rate for these countries is every bit as good as the rate for U.S. children, all of them over 90%. Mexico's rate of 98% of children vaccinated far eclipses ours at 93-94% (thanks anti vaxxer nitwits). But calling them disease ridden vermin helps people like trainmanswife rationalize their irrational hatred and sleep better at night. Two kids get sent to a hospital for a fever- out of roughly 50,000. EVERYBODY PANIC!

These children are also thoroughly screened for gang activity and/or criminal records and NO child that fails these screenings is released. The idea that ruthless Central American gang bangers are wandering the streets of America is just another vicious lie told to justify the irrational fear and hate. But the best part is, somehow the deteriorating political situation and the drug violence in Central America is all Obama's doing. He has purposely caused all this to happen (why? who knows? but if you irrationally hate the president, everything bad that happens anywhere on the planet is his doing as part of some secret plan to do something or another).

The best part is the tinfoil hat reasoning for all this. Turns out the president went down to Central America to personally convince thousands of families to send their children on a long perilous voyage across multiple countries in the blazing heat with nothing to their names other than the clothes on their back- all as a favor to help some political party half a world away win some election that has nothing to do with them. It makes perfect sense- those Honduran families aren't worrying about the coup d'état in their own country, or the gangs, or the drugs or the death squads or the rampant violence or hunger-no, their number one priority is to risk their kids' lives to vote in some foreign country ten years in the future when they're actually old enough to vote.

This is the sort of moonbat, completely crazy conspiracy theory that passes for rational thinking on the right these days. Yes, the plight of those poor refugees is nothing but a Democratic plot to flood the country with eight year old landscapers, nine year old dishwashers and hotel maids and an army of ten year old voters marching on our polling places this year to influence the mid-term elections. But hey, whatever helps you wingnuts justify your irrational hate and xenophobia, right? If you clowns had an ounce of sense you'd be ashamed of yourselves.

And people scoffed when I wrote many Republicans seem to want an Anglo cultural hegemony in AZ?

First, Huppenthal's outrageous online comments ripped the lid off their racism now Thomas' ad serves it to us on a silver platter.

Re: “The Skinny

When will the D's learn, that it ISN'T their policies that are the problem, it is the D after their name. They can pander to the R's all they want, but it won't make a shred of difference, because the D is still there. If Barber had switched parties, he'd be a shoe-in. ANYONE can see this, except maybe for a D. Get in there, do what you think is right, and let the chips fall.

Take Obama for example, his slogan should have been, "Yes we can, but no, we didn't". He's more like Bush than Bush could ever have been. And the result? The R's want to impeach him!

Re: “Troubled Train

Are you KIDDING me? Why is it that every moron who wants to kill themselves also wants to take as much of humanity as possible with them? I mean, if you DON'T LIKE IT, just JUMP OFF THE TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

(also, doesn't the whole premise violate all of physics?)

Re: “Andrew Thomas Will Fight the Mexicans, Gays and Liberals, According to His Terrible New Ad

I love how Christine says "No amnesty" (since she has no say so in that category), "Sending the troops to the border" (and paying them with what money?) and going to "send the bill to Obama" (which will cause a laugh before being refused).

My question after watching the GOP ads is this; considering they all say they're going to do the federal governments job and all mention Obama, are they running for Gov. or President? If you want a good laugh take a look at the "More info" links on http://stonewalldemsaz.org/candidates.htm

Re: “Underwear Party

Apparently Irene didn't take much from Mari's Body Revolution cover storyin the March 20-26 issue. http://www.tucsonweekly.com/tucson/body-revolution/Content?oid=4026028.

If she had, maybe she would have thought about not immediately starting this blurb by injecting every reader with anxiety about their figure, making them question whether or not they're in 'good enough' shape to attend. I mean this blurb is supposed to be promotional, not alienating... no? How about "Whatever you did or didn't do to get ready for pool season, shed your clothes and have a great f*cking time"?

Now excuse me while I finish my ice cream and try on the hot dog underwear I bought for this party.

Re: “Op-ed: What Part of Illegal Don't You Understand?

These illegals are being shipped all around the country have not been screened properly for diseases or the MS13 gang members haven't been removed. There was two sent from Nogales sent to a California hospital with a high fever and it it hard telling how many more there are that we are not being told about.
This is all political so they can force amnesty on us like all the other crap that has been forced on us. This is a stupid move because it is going to do more harm to the economy than has already been done. Cheap labor and more votes for the democrats what it is all about.

Why are all these Republicans running negative campaigns? Don't they have any positive ideas? Job Growth? Education Reform? Maybe getting the economy going?
