Looks like nobody is interested in fixing the problems.
This needs to be renamed "Weekly Whine."
TUSD stole money and wasted it.
End of story. Quit blaming charters. It sounds so petty.
Lease a boarded-up gas station, buy a few desks, hire your cronies and start writing lucrative "vendor" contracts with no oversight and start cashing those blank checks. Charter schools in Arizona have long been an inside joke and marketing scam to dupe frustrated parents and clueless lawmakers. Yes, we have BASIS. Oh wait, they have an entrance exam and don't take special needs students. Meanwhile, excellent public schools can't pay for even the most basic repairs. My UHS classroom had no heating or air conditioning for three months. Deny funding for the charter ripoff.
Oh Heather, because you're new to town I'll let it slide this time, but no list of soups on Fourth Ave. is complete without Bison Witches. Their bread bowl and a half sandwich combo with a beer is a must-have!
Maybe if by "Guggenheim" they mean "Walgreens"
Wow. Have you went "psychic friends" on me Tom? What makes you think that the same dude who sparred with you on the radio is now commenting on your columns?
It was a much fairer venue on "talk radio." I haven't forgotten Mark Twain (or whoever) admonishing
one to "never pick a fight with folks who buy ink by the barrel". I feel very constricted writing in this little box. I will try to hold my own however.
We actually agreed on quite a bit during your years chatting with Emil.
We both loved Popeye's chicken. We both found Mohammed Ali quite fascinating.
We also agreed that Sean Hannity was a bit of a dullard. I think that hippies and race hustling poverty pimps bored the hell out of both of us if I remember correctly.
Have a wonderful Christmas and I will pick a public school fight with you after the Holidays. Oh yeah, we both love that Jesus guy. There goes your cred with this Weekly bunch.
Oh, to answer your question. I thought that the world going to "hell in a hand basket" might have changed your mind a bit. Guess not............later V
I have supported protests in this country because things do change. But when there are protests for immigration that include illegals here in America it really boils my blood. Law enforcement should raid these protests and arrest and deport those who are illegal.
First of all these illegals are felons by breaking federal law by being here. If they have no respect for our laws in the first place, they disrespect the people that are doing the right thing but trying to enter our country going through the right channels. If you disrespect our laws we DON'T WANT YOU HERE!!
You are going to make this great country of ours onto a 3rd World Country.
An American the right way
Good luck! As a start maybe you fix the links to the comics on this site. They haven't worked in months.
Jim-Actually, its the Odd Fellows Hall.
Check me out at reverbnation.com/ChubNasty let me know if we could do something
Good questions-especially to your friend Vince.
Tin foil hats are available for a $50 donation.
I will be out of town that day, but I wonder if somebody would ask her to expound on the theory that competition is the ONLY thing that made the Post Office better.
And they are much better.
Clifford, this is just like robbing a store, attempting to take a gun from a police officer and then burning down the town because the criminal caused himself to be shot.
The line for legals sits still. We coddle the illegals. That's what is broken. It's DC's fault.
It would be nice to also have had a "learning lesson" about availability of beer and wine and prices for those plus the salad offerings. Also, given all the hype about the place, how hard is it to get into? Did you have to wait? Was the place raucous, or could you carry on a conversation?
I'm going to starve. The Cali Mist was the best turkey sandwich in Tucson.
I like the tacos at Calle Tepa. But I was disappointed when they started charging extra for a basket of chips. I understand that a self-serve system for chips will be abused, and people will just load up basket after basket (one reason why we can't have nice things). But for me it's the fine difference between a good value and not. It seems they could have tried offering one small basket of chips with an order, keeping control of it instead of letting people run rampant.
I keep hearing the same BS, the system is broken, really? when did it break? if you came here legally and went through the proper requirements and became a US citizen is the system broken? if you came here legally but let your visa elapse and now are an illegal or just crossed the border and are squatting here illegally is the system broken? No, but after years of letting millions upon millions of illegals stay here for 10+ years (and a large percentage still can't speak English) without doing nothing when they should have been rounding them up and deporting all illegals now we say the system is broken. it's not broken it's just not being enforced and that's the big problem. The system that's broken is this is politically motivated and only hurts the US citizen trying to make an honest living.
No. What I wanted you to admit is that once again the POTUS has not enforced laws on the books but attempts to pass additional new laws while bypassing Congress.
Wait until this backfires on you.
Grijalva on CROmnibus: GOP Is "Using a Potential Crisis With the Federal Government To Hurt Working Families"?????? The only thing he is interested in is the immigrants of Mexico not anything else. Trying to squeeze in working families? Give me a break
Geographically the north of Tucson is awesome but urban planners will take care to turn the last land available like Oro Valley into an ugly tract housing/ strip malls urban sprawl.
