I still can't quite comprehend how a person who fired missiles at civilians for a living can talk about the "sanctity of human life" in the next breath. She's a typical hard line conservative. Once you're born, you're on your own. And don't get sick - but if you do, die quickly.
Which Republican alternative is she referring to, 'take what you can get and be grateful for it' or 'go to the emergency room and hope you're in time to live'?
So she still hates gays. God save Arizona.
It's too bad the video didn't show the next 30 seconds where the partisan old fool was deservedly stomped into a nursing home by the ASU yuppie puppies. Now they're all safely in medical facilities or behind bars and the world is a better place-it's a win/win!
"We had a hurricane, a huge forest fire and an earthquake all in one week in Virginia ..."
but only one of those is actually a weather event...
If this old dude can't take the heat, he shouldn't be in the stands during a game especially at the opposing teams stadium.
I've seen some very emphatic razing of a Colorado fan during a UofA basketball home game. The Colorado fan kept his cool and nothing like this instance was seen. This is no credit to our City or the UofA football team - for shame!
ordered mine already
Bear Down (on his face)
A pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing!
Jess is one of my favorite Tucson solo artists, his show at sparkroot was really great, i have been listening to this new ep a lot.
Nutcracker by the Numbers
Ooops! Must be an oversight to not include Moscow Ballet's company of 40 performing "Great Russian Nutcracker" in the "professional" category....if they are not professionals (dance as a full-time career and are paid for it) then who is? Go to www.nutcracker.com for all about the tour and company
Shoo -- You certainly are grinding that ax, aren't you? We know you were canned by 1290 and this is your 2nd negative column about the station. Not say you don't bring up some valid points, but I see where Brad is getting airtime periodically on the station as a fill-in, but you have not been back. Is there more to the story than you have shared, or are you just using your position as a columnist to take shots at the station? "Inquiring minds want to know" ....
Why wasn't Aaron Pickering chosen as chief meteorologist? He's been there awhile and is very good. Why don't these stations choose to promote from within? They always go outside the box. Well, I bet you'll see Aaron and Erin Jordan leaving soon since they weren't promoted. Shame on you KOLD!
And we're condoning this type behavior? Really?
Why didn't you ask her about her health care coverage -- most likely TriCare for Life and little or not cost to her and how she reconciles that with what she thinks the rest of the country should be paying?
I live in california. And this is very comfortable state when it comes to the weather. But not so comfortable when it comes to laws, traffic and taxation. I think legalization would be a very good investment for this state. The pros obviously would out way the cons in so many different aspects. History has proven that to us and other countries. but theres still money hungry media, religious beliefs pharmaceutical companies, federal government agencies and state government agencies that still claim it's demoralizing, sinful and harmful. Or are they just afraid of change?. Hemp, cannabis and medical cannabis is a plant given to mankind by mother nature to use as a tool for life. No matter how hard us humans try to contradict that. Will always find a way to use cannabis. So lets legalize, regulate and tax everyone that sees this.
Based on Chuckie's comment I read the Weekly's review linked above. What are you smoking, mang? That review was very positive and well-written, and absolutely no nitpicking as described. It made me sad I didn't catch on to la cocina de gabby before it was too late.
No one took a swing at him; this is totally ridiculous. Hope he got prosecuted for assault.
There will be a bottle-neck situation headed into downtown Tucson since the 8 lanes will be narrowed into 3 then 2 lanes toward Congress and then one toward Alameda. That seems poorly planned to me...
Hakeson, Good points!
Just to let you know, I have known Ethan since we were in High School together at Amphi. I was senior class president, he was quite active back then as well, we both were! George Miller was teaching civic activism back then to students while he was on Council. I like to think he learned from me, though! LOL I am not his campaign manager, just an angry and opinionated pundit. Also, I was considering a run in that district a while back, but don't think I will ever run again until they elect independents, or primary politics call for moderates. Ethan and I have taken different paths but was thrilled he ran and even more thrilled that he was elected! Knew form day one how important his presence would be, trust me plenty of voters, electeds, lobbyists, activists, local government officials, agencies etc. do as well!
YOU ARE CORRECT, I have expressed the concern to him about whether the Republican leadership might be too extreme, he might become marginalized and hence he might lose influence as our voice of reason. I do not know what happens inside the Republican corridors of power, but I can tell you these are issues both parties have, they just never come to the forefront in Arizona with the Dems, except when Greens run or will once the Democrats take the legislature! (not likely in our lifetime) From what I "hear" though there is enough common ground for all under the old BIG TENT caucus! lol
Clearly his Medicaid vote in his freshman year tells you what kind of guy we have up there! The thing about Ethan is he does not seek fame, fortune, power or any other form of self validation, he works on behalf of people because he cares. Andy Nichols taught me to judge my legislators by that measure.
