After eating a sonoran dog at Papa Locos I can not eat one at EC. PL uses all beef dogs that are bigger so the you actually get meat with the first and last bites and the buns are to die for. EC uses those cheap little 3 meat scrap dogs. This review says in all.

Xenophobia (or never go south of 22nd St fear) has obviously influenced this category, when only Mi Nidito has made the list from the MANY excellent Mexican food restaurants on South Fourth Avenue. Guillermos, Rigos, Michas and Crossroads are all "Old Pueblo" Mexican restaurants. El Torero, off S. 4th on 26th is another. As is the little take-out on S. 12th, Los Jarritos. I don't question the quality of Poca Cosa, but it is more a niche restaurant than a people's Mexican restaurant. El Charro, not the El Charro restaurant that I knew on Broadway many years ago, is tainted as a McMahon's chain. In the future, folks, let's get out and give some of these old favorites a try and vote them the recognition they deserve!
Vegan options rock and you're right we don't always feel like eating vegetables! For more tips and articles on veganism check out ChooseVeg.com!
Wow.. Nico's then Chipotle. Wow. My vote is for McDonald's breakfast burritos, if this is the mentality. Drunk gringos.
Rubio's? Really people? Why not just vote for Taco Bell
I have had these on my single trip to Barrio, and while they are not the best fish tacos EVER, they are the absolute best I have had in the aviation neighborhood in Tucson, without a doubt. And they went perfect with the pilsner of the day that day.
There is no apostrophe in tacos.
Ugh for #2 and #3!! Overpriced and Over-Americanized and does not come close to Mexican. Head to Barrio Hollywood for some real food. My fav for a $6.49 lunch that includes a big bowl of soup, a tamale or relleno with rice and beans at Las Cuates. La Fresita is good too and both of these places have Drive Thru.
Take standard Mexican fare and turn it into a salad and somehow it becomes noteworthy. Weird and odd come to mind but not inventive and certainly not good.
While I agree that the little neat has some really awesome food, I really hate to queue up for dinner. Unfortunately a Tucson Original has become as touristy as a Hard Rock Cafe.
After having Tucson Tamale Company's tamales, they are the ONLY tamales that I will eat!
Um, where is this? I think La Michoacana is going to be the best place in Tucson.
This choice is super irritating!!!! Mi Niditos is so overrated and the wait time is super ridiculous for some mediocre food. I'd rather take/send visitors to Guadalajara Grill.
BK's has a drive through! And, I would choose Taco Bell before ever going to any of these establishments listed here.
As much as I love Cafe Poca Cosa (its my favorite restaurant in town), I don't feel likes it's your typical Mexican Restaurant.
I feel like Taqueria Pico De Gallo needs to be #1 here.
#1 Chain
#2 Chain
I'm going to be sick
Nicos and Chipotle? What a disgrace for a city 40 minutes from mexico. Who is voting 80 year olds from the midwest and 6 year old McDonalds fans?
Re: “Best Menudo”
The best Menudo is Los Jarritos
