Re: “Are You Ready for What the Future Shall Bring?

"Best Beer Selection" should have three categories: draft, bottle and most importantly local.

"Best Local Brew" would also be a good category now that we have so many breweries in town.

Re: “Are You Ready for What the Future Shall Bring?

I'd like to nominate a category for the times and for the current local economy:

Best Places to recycle, pawn, sell or exchange goods and services.

Re: “Are You Ready for What the Future Shall Bring?

You would think with 20,000 motorcycle riders in Southern Arizona you would find room for two or three catogories like: best Harey shop, best sport bike shops, best clothing and gear store. KI know of several weeklies in California that have these catagories in their "Best of" polls. Tucson is one of the best places to own a motorcycle in the US and over 15 business serve this community. Perhaps a bit more relevant that catagories like "Best Remodeled Greasy Spoon".

Re: “Welcome to Best of Tucson® 25: Super Tucson

I really wish there was a category for personal trainers and small locally-owned gyms. Why should a conglomerate big box even be included as a Best of Tucson category? At the very least, Tucson's best personal trainer or something like that, to recognize the small privately owned facilities that are getting and keeping Tucson healthy!

Why was the Hogpit Smokehouse not even considered in the judging for best BBQ in Tucson? If you haven't eaten there you are missing out on the best BBQ in Tucson

Thanks Tucson Weekly/Jimmy Boegle. Cecil B. DeMille, ole saying:"No Accounting for Taste" pardon my wearing out the ole quote, reminds me of a time when a couple had a place downtown who's moment, although ever so brief, was the "Hot Spot" as a Downtown Tucson Alliance Security guy best described:"Surreal like or something was his description in comparison to other establishments downtown. Nice compliment per his experience.

I was glad to see that Gold's Gym beat out the L A Fitnesses. I don't know what the staff at Gold's is like, but they couldn't possibly be worse than the LAF bunch. Try asking LAF to turn down the awful noise that comes out of their speakers when all you want to do is work out. Talk about surly.

The the Rotthner boy buys the county nursing home for over 1 million dollars less then the next bidder and claimes his daddys company that won the contract is unrealted because he will be creating a new LLC under which Daddy will give it to him. And I almost forgot, he asked us not to judge him on his fathers practices wiht include closed nursing homes, federal invesitgatuons and ties to racketering.

Re: “Best of Tucson® 2010

I love the BOT list every year. Tucson is a seriously fantastic place. Speaking of best outdoor recreation stores I've been trying to get my hands on a Dakota 20 GPS for a decent price for a while now and I'm wondering if you all know where would be the best place to look. Either here in Tucson or online.

Re: “Best of Tucson® 2010

I love the Best of Tucson issue! I'm wondering, though, if there is a way to suggest a category that doesn't exist? For small local businesses, I think it would be great if they could be recognized, but it's tough to recognize local talent and business when there are national chains and corporate conglomerates in the category.

Is there a place we can suggest a category??

Re: “Best of Tucson® 2010

This is easily my favorite paper each year. Thank you to all our current customers and all future ones for voting Big 5 Sporting Goods as the Best Place for Sporting Goods. Yes, we are big in Tucson and on the western third of the United States. Some stores are larger than others but if you want to know what the "5" stands for you can find it on our webpage at www.big5sportinggoods.com, the Facebook Fan Page at www.facebook.com (keyword Big 5 Sporting Goods) or on out Twitter page at www.twitter.com/big5since55. Keep up the great work and, once I get through this year's issue, I'll be looking forward to next year's copy!
