totally CJ, people don't understand how hard it is to get restaurants, bars, bookstores whatever to respond. Writing a column weekly is hard work.
Why, thank you Mr. Morgan. I personally think you did a great job, it is definitely harder than one would expect.
Adam was my inspiration for trying my hand at this as well. As I can attest he is a hard act to follow but there is no reason not to give C.J. a fair chance. Seems He is doing better than I did.
Haha.. Adam was my favorite too. I used to e-mail him with a must have list when I wanted to go out to dinner, and he would fire back 3-4 spot on recommendations every time, regardless of the stipulations presented.
well that explains that reta!
adam hasn't lived in Tucson for ages.
boring! bring back adam!
Ha! They did the Raymond dusty but he is still going strong. The Original Mr K's on Park, yum.
As for Mr. K's - The blame lies squarely on RICHARD YELLOT.
Richard - Stick with scamming people in real estate, the restaurant business isn't for you.
Great little bakery in there too, I grew up in that neighborhood, sure wish that place had been there back then. Fry's has done a good job across the street with their Mexican style cold deli and ice cream.
One can hardly have too many carnicerias!
That place is GREAT, in fact it is the one I frequent the most, by far. It is west of Swan, and I live FAR east of Swan, so I am looking forward to this new place. I hope it is as good.
I live just east of Swan and there's an excellent carniceria right nearby with great carne asada: El Herradero Carniceria y Panaderia. 22nd/Columbus.
Nobody wants to be 100% forthcoming about their mistakes, but I didn't find them to be untruthful about anything.
UmiStar has not been at all forthcoming about what has been going on since August. We were fairly frequent patrons previously but are not anxious to give them our custom now.
Batali, on Yelp: "Personally, any place that doesn't have you put your name on it, I don't read. I have no time to figure out what you mean and what your agenda is. Yelp is very insignificant for us."
I stopped by Umi yesterday. There was only a sign on the door, some empty cartons of take out and the kind of briefcase used by wine reps. No people. No movement. I love gossip as much as the next person but that's all yelp is about.....gossip.
Careful, Rita. It's a big discussion on Yelp. Wouldn't want you to sully yourself by dealing with THOSE people.
Thanks! I am just glad someone knew what it was.
Six thumbs up for the Dobie Gillis reference!
