Does anyone read the Red Star??? It's like four pages. Small but still a commie rag
Apparently, the reason people were turning off John C Scott at 3PM, was to listen to JT Harris. More entertaining...
Regina: Seriously, what did I do to you? You have three posts on our site and they're all attacking me. Why?
Good riddance to John C. Scott! Nasty man and bombastic. That's journalism? I guess Dan Gibson is all over that one. (A conservative voice himself.)
Flagstaff also has free parking downtown - not a lot of it, but what there is, is free. The city decided to put in meters last year, and MANY people said they just wouldn't go downtown any more. So, Tucson - wonder why no one is downtown?
John C. Scott does have another gig. He is the Operations Manager and Track Announcer at Tucson Greyhound Park - http://tucsongreyhound.com/about-the-track…
Although it was hard to find John at the current time period, I have spent 30 years listening to him on the radio and occasionally calling in. John's attraction was that despite his politics, he interviewed everybody in office and the want-to-bes as well. If you were interested in Southern AZ politics and government, John was the go-to show. I remember when he served in the state legislature in the 70s and when he was on KTKT and Ch. 11. He will find another slot. There must be another voice in Tucson radio other than hard line conservative crazies.
Hey I know him, I never talked to him, but he was a good person, yeah I know, he is a little big......but...... so what, it doesn't mean he has no feelings, I think if I was gonna get to know him, he could have been a good person
That's not cool, Utterback Middle School saves a lot of history by their murals!, whoever is reading this, even if you are at this school or not, STAND UP!!!! don't wait until it happens to do something about it, I was at the assembly and, of course I stand up agaisnt TUSD obviously I was furious, so I started putting up papers that said murals are history..... DON'T ERASE OUR HISTORY...... and so other, and they said they are not ignoring our voice well I think THAT IF THEY ARE ERASING OUR MURALS THEY ARE IGNORING OUR VOICE DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU IN YOUR SCHOOL GO AHEAD AND STAND UP FOR IT. IF YOU DON'T DO IT THEN...... WHO IS? I am proudly a student at Utterback Middle School and I'm not scared of telling the truth to TUSD!!!!
Dartman: We have included conservative voices (Jonathan Hoffman) and the majority of our stories don't fall under any ideological line. I've actually reached out to several conservatives to have them write for us, but they've never followed through. So there's that.
You can divide up the 200(400) among different organizations. These donations also reduce your federal income as a charitable contribution.
John,John,John. Run for the House.
Before the internet and before I had my license and could drive to and record stores that had decent punk. I mail ordered everything from Toxic. In a lot of ways they shaped my taste in music and introduced me to bands I still listen too 25 years later. Thanks for everything. Ryan from Illinois.
And remember kids, add "scare quotes" to every other "word" or so in your "post." It lends an air of "cynicsm" that comes only from a "deep understanding" of "stuff."
I thought nobody gets fired right before xmas. They must hate the guy.
Conservatives prefer "talk" radio. The guys who brought us Rush Limbaugh in the mid-80's tested that theory (and, well...as they say...) Liberals have NEVER generated much of an audience for "talkradio." Liberals used to get their "needs met" via FM rock radio. Not sure where they go, now. Al Franken couldn't save AirAmerica. KXCI audience is no doubt mostly "liberal," by virtue of its "programming." Perhaps John can catch on there. But then, he'd have to be a "volunteer." And his info-mercials would have to help support KXCI.
I agree that Gustavo often takes a thoughtful and interesting question, one that dares display a naiveté about Mexican and Mexican-American culture, and dances around it with humorous derision and wordplay rather than dig deeper into the matter. Humor is part of his stock in trade, but it's still possible to address the question with humor and jocularity instead of ignoring it, or fearing like actually answering the question will ruin the column with too much dour gravitas.
The future of radio in Tucson: "All 'Cool Church,' all the time."
Look at the positive side: John C can now stay at home with his family for the holidays. AND not have to deal with the traffic around Winterhaven during his commute time.
So sad there is no value placed on someone who knows Tucson and Arizona. Other than KXCI, the radio landscape in Southern Arizona is bleak. Not sure anyone under the age of 60 even listens to it anymore.
