I learned as a child from a person who swore constantly that swearing uncontrollably was the sign of a weak vocabulary. Sixty years later I still find that to be true. I still believe important thoughts can be conveyed with better language than obscenities.

AZ/DC, why would you attack me on this issue, rather than the quack doctors prescribing Prozac, and other suicide causing agents dispensed like candy to an unsuspecting public? The suicide problem's out of control and you've no interest in working on it? Shame dude.
ANSWER: If one has no argument of value, zilch, nada, none, then one attacks, personally, the opposition. I see you not as the opposition, just someone too lazy to develop their own argument on the issues at hand. Go back to school dude, you apparently need some academic training. Join the debate club and learn the rules of a rational argument.

I like using the sweet, musical Spanish "mierda" more than the harsher English "shit."

I have been swearing, sometimes uncontrollably for the last 55 years or so. I am 60. There are times when public swearing bothers me like when I am at the zoo with my grand kids and people let the F-Bombs drop. Once when my cute little innocent daughter was about 3 or 4 she politely asked that someone "pass the goddamn catsup please". My wife shot me a dirty look that would have shattered plate glass. I hadn't said a thing (for a change). I like the RANGE and TUCSON WEEKLY for it's information and general politics, but sometimes when difficult topics are discussed (especially gun control etc) it seems to undermine strong and intelligent logic when F-Bombs or other swear words are used. When intellect and logic or truth are used to make a cogent point, swear words, vulgarities or name calling compromise the argument with unneeded emotion. Logic and truth are difficult to argue against, but one can always yell louder, or think of a more clever way to tell someone to fuck off. My wife never heard her father utter the F-word. I heard him say it only 3 times in his entire life, and each time it blew my mind. I had the utmost respect for him. He was the last of the culture of true gentlemen. How often and under what circumstances one uses powerful language has a lot to do with that words potency. Sometimes I dream nostalgically for a time when public decorum and gentlemanliness were characteristics of integrity and civility, but those days are past us, and I probably would not fit in that culture too well.

I submit had "Sam" been in the right frame of mind (thus, not drunk like the others and/or so-called "normal") he would not have "freaked out" and driven away, thrown the severed arm away and lied to police.
I submit that "Sam" was similarly intoxicated as the two others ... because usually those are the ones who cowardly flee an accident lest they be charged with intoxication as well ... just sayin'.
There are so many holes in this one particular account of this well-documented story that an obscenely drunk person driving in a Jeep could have driven through them and not hit an edge. Why was this even published? Are there any editors at the Weakly who read these things before they are published???

They were hacked at some point. Look at the captions of their facebook photos on their page. The descriptions were written by hackers. "STOLEN PHOTOS, dog poop, and vomit" is one description.
Look at it and you will see what I mean.

This can be profoundly true. To me, the first task is to choose an aesthetic: what kind of plants make you feel really good when you work with them? In all seasons, try to work partly in the shade (at least have a nearby shady spot to rest in). And in summer, go slow and be sure to drink lots of electrolyted liquid. Doing this kind of work and watching the results as you go is literally a life-saver for ome of us.

Even though Tucson is kind of the "liberal "bastion for the state of Arizona, it is getting harder and harder to live here. For years, much of the retirement and resort business came from North-easterners that regarded Arizona a "hip" place. That is rapidly changing, the people in that corridor are more and more starting to regards Arizona as kind of a "Alabama with Cactus" kind of place where "Yahoo's Rule" . Our lawmakers and the "pro-gun", anti-abortion" and "anit-imigration" forces in Maricopa County that dominate our state government, along with our "national embarrassment" governor, are scaring away the businesses and talent that could help Arizona grow in a positive way.
